It is unbelievable how when there is soimething like this happens to someone driving a Commodore or Falcon or any other car for that matter, everyone on here has ridiculed them and said they deserve what they got.
But because this involves an F1 driver you all think that it is OK and funny for him to do it. IMO it is about time that you all grew up and remembered that he has to abide by the laws of the road as all of us do (even if you don't agree with them). He got caught and has to suffer the consequences of his actions. I think he is in for a bigger surprise when he faces the FIA about it as they are pushing road safety world wide in a big way and he goes and does this. |

You do not have to abide to anything you don't agree with, you may have some consequences forced upon you but it's important to remember you have the choice to do whatever you want. On the day that you have no one left standing up to those in power, which in our case is the government everything will be lost. It doesn't mean you should go around an cut people heads off :0 but so long as you are morally correct in what you do, long term you will win.
A F1 Driver (one of the best the world has seen) in a AMG getting a little wheelspin is not a problem for anyone, if they are going to continue with these kind of laws it should be only if other members of the public were put in danger |

Plus at the end of the day the law is the law. If I can't legally do why the hell should anyone else be allowed to. |

Lets be honest, Lewis will not fight it, his sponsors will not allow it as they do not want the negative press. They will give him a wrap over the knuckles and move on with their business, competing and winning races.

Remember what happened last friday night as a result of something organised on Facebook? He'll cop his wack, he already got a fair wallop this morning by international commentators.. The general world wide concensus amongst well regarded people is he did the wrong thing and got what he deserved. End of story, he admitted it was stupid, apologised and he's moved on, so should we.

So all six billion people on facebook share the same opinion as the people who turned up last friday and none of those 6 billion users could be regarded as a well regarded person .An buy intenational commetators i assume you mean sheep that like to predict what people want to hear to remain popular . Just cause lewis hamilton apoligised does not mean he is sorry . It does not mean he thinks he did anything wrong . Just because the commetators a saying what you want to hear does not mean there not smirking and talking the ******** on the next flight out of the country. Yes he broke the law that was wrong . But that does not mean the law is just and the punishment suits the crime except in this case it probly is. He had a merc dealers car confiscated and probly got a new one deliverd 30 mins later. |

I gotta admit some of the replys on here are pretty amusing...
With opinions like "its ok to break the law cause is a F1 driver" "Australia is a laughing stock of the world cause we booked an F1 driver for breaking the law" "Victorians should hang their heads in shame that the Police booked an F1 driver" Classic stuff.... almost the sorts of things pubescent teens would say.

Do you actually know what he did? Ive heard everything from taking off too quickly and smoking the tyres to a handbrake 180 turn and full burnout in the opposite direction...... Does anyone know EXACTLY what happened? The rules he plays by on a track are significantly different to those we ALL must play by on the street.. yet you seem confused by them...

So you condone hooning on the streets and that Police should turn a blind eye to it..... what an attitude. Wow Australia looks bad to the rest of the world!!!! OMG.... forshame on the Police for booking someone doing a burnout! Outrageous! How dare they! Imagine if it was you, you would be furious, jumping up and down claiming that your a professional and you know what your doing as opposed to all those other drivers out there! No wonder people see "car enthusists" as hoons....

Damned if you do damned if you don't. As for the old chest nut of being out catching real crims, thats what the other coppers are doing, he's been told to do traffic duty at the track by my guessing and thats what he's doing. I don't have an issue with this at all, the law applies to everyone, even if we don't like the law.
