It is amazing how Ford really showed us nothing & told us nothing, but by giving us a “teaser” & talking about it up front & by not waiting for all the negatively angled questions we have not gotten one single article that has been negatively written about Falcon. Which is what I thought was coming before the show started. This has been great work I think by Ford. It gives me confidence that maybe the media department at Ford might actually know what they are doing!!
I look forward to 2014 & what Falcon brings. Any chance they are secretly working on Diesel Falcon? |

I love the Falcon as much as the next guy (look up my previous posts) and am sooo happy that this is happening. But at the same time, a big investment like this needs to be profitable. Could it be that finally an export programme is on the cards? Could it be that the Falcon platform will finally be shared with the Mustang and maybe be the basis for other large RWD Ford USA models??

I went along to the motor show last night, and I have to say ford's presence was far ahead of most manufacturers. The overall feel of the show was quiet compared to other years, but even my mates who are not Ford (or Holden for that matter) guys were impressed. The ecoboost G series on the dyno pumping out 147 rwkw was cool to see!

throughout the whole presentation i was thinking to myself 'i will replace my falcon with the new mondeo once the falcon is dead in 2016,' and 'why arent they saying anything about the falcon!' and then they suprised me with that falcon 2014 teaser and then i started thinking 'OMGWTFBBQ!'

Good job ford. Nice to see they have made a reply to all the unfounded speculation in the media.

Could be completely wrong but I'm thinking more like SZ Territory bonnet,
headlights and then corporate Fusion /Taurus look below that.. Thinking parts sharing plus letting the plastic nose do the differentiation work.. Maybe a rework of Territory rear tail lights and new boot lid for a different look at the back.. maybe different crease lines in door skins.. The above changes would be fairly straight forward but give a huge change in appearance... |

Some in USA who claim to have sen the 2015 Mustang say this render is getting close although the front is still a bit off..
So this Mustang styling could be more to do with what is coming for the 2014 Falcon, that makes more sense to me... |

it is going to win a lot of friends, maybe a lot of former buyers of the brand come back if it has an aggressive look? |

Best thing is, no matter how much people like to call the falcon dead.
Its not. Come 2014, its going further.
