You missed the point cause you're too busy stalking. They are both Hyundai....which makes them a piece of crap quality wise. And....any Toyota is better than any Hyundai. see the difference? it's a different colour as well... |

You seem to have some hatred of Hyundai, so, go ahead and explain why they are so crap and how misled a whole bunch of satisfied car buyers are. How is Toyota better than Hyundai? that pretty subjective, a Hyundai driver doesn't hop in their car, drive to work, and whinge that the journey would be more better if they were driving a Toyota.

http://www.reliabilityindex.com/manufacturer/relIndex All Hyundais' are unreliable just check out these links. Looks like a Chev badge might actually help reliability, I might have to get one for my Ranger, Enjoy the popcorn and diet coke.

you would have to give all the makes below them, and according to some the one at 5, a wide berth

Be careful bro that stuff kills you quicker than the real deal If I have it or anything with aspartame in it instead of good ol' regular sugar, gives me problems.
I think the Genesis is fighting an up-hill battle purely based on their name, there are a lot of people out there who still think they are doing below par cars. Still plenty of Excels getting about, still plenty of Festivas too (Kia), at least now they're starting to get half decent interiors going and doors that close with a thud rather than a slap. The only Korean company I wouldn't buy a car from is Daewoo/GM Korea and thats not because I'm a "Ford fan". Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 26-11-2014 at 12:18 AM. |

FFS where are all the other car makers in the world? Great wall vehicles are where? Porsche is where? Ferrari is where? BMW is where? Oh I get it...it's a list of cars under 30k. just you forgot to mention that little selective statistic gem. Been sucking eggs with my diet coke for a while now mate, no need for lessons from you. |

of 50,000 warranty policies assessed the 'better' brands ranked Volvo at 26 BMW at 29 Jaguar at 29 Mercedes at 32 Audi at 34 Alfa as high as 36 Porsche 38 and Bentley at 39 so plenty over 30K and it would seem in the real world, not the fairy land many live that price doesn't necessarily mean reliable! The third party warranty company that runs that site will not collate non-warranty stuff that a lot of people care about. Door handles falling off, trim rattles, squeaky seats, faded dials, paint that peels off. Try to make an extended warranty claim on a Hyundai engine that exhibits "fair wear and tear" by burning oil.... Selective statistics are great for delusional tight asses who justify a poor choice of vehicle, usually for their wife/daughter/female who want what they think will be a cheap car to run. The problem with the Genesis is it will be mutton dressed as lamb. No matter how much clear coat you put on a terd it still remains a terd. Genesis will be great for those who want to prance about pretending they are wealthier than they actually are. |

I call myself average Joe. Been around the block a few times, take everything with a grain of salt, but find these independent results compelling. they point to trends not individual findings, and as far as I'm concerned, and fitting with my world view, the report stands up. And im pretty mechanically minded, well versed in technical things, imagine the damage to your world when an average car purchaser sees this sort of summary. It must hurt mate. How are you going to blah blah them all down! I for one wish Hyundai all the best, I wont be buying one, but I'm not in the market for that sort of car! Im happy with my cheap and cheerful falcon ute and reliable Japanese buzz boxes. That must truly rile you, as I fly in the face of your world order. Sorry! JP |

Look, I wouldn't buy a Hyundai, they're too bland for me but I don't have any doubt about their quality. I'm surprised you Ford fans haven't commented on how Ford Europe has moved right up in the quality and reliability stakes in Europe in recent years. Well done. My quality engineer mate in Germany told me a few years ago that Fords are the best built German cars and it looks like he's right. Hyundai is also regarded very highly in Europe where it's roared up the sales charts to nibble the tails of the big ones - and well ahead of Toyota and any other Asian brands. |

I travel alot both here and over seas (mainly the US). Hyundai's are one of my favorite rental cars and the Genesis is a great car that does go head to head with the Euro's and the high end Jap cars - and thats in america where Euro's are a hell of a lot cheaper. You could look at me as a wannabe for driving a Hyundai but I would look at you as a try hard badge snob for driving around in a crappy 320 bmw for the same money. I get the v8 genesis some times in the US and it is a nice car - but the Equus is very nice - thats what we should have got here. its the LS400 of this generation (reclining back seats are cool) and it also slows down for speed cameras. I cant afford to rent a s500 merc or 740 bmw or the like which are the only casr that i think beats the Equus for spec. Get off the keyboard and go drive one - youll be impressed (they just need another 400 extra HP but thats just me |

I rent a Corvette when there, and you rent the Equus. Not my fault you can't afford to rent what badge your ego yearns for....(BMW 740 or S500 Mercedes) But thanks for sharing your (mostly) off topic banter in a Hyundai thread. |

Having spent alot of time with this car 2 weeks ago, i can tell you it is a level about any Korean car ever... i would even say it is better than a 5 year old German car, the technology is amazing, The NCAP safety rating system is now being reviewed due to this (and a handful of other cars)... but to compare it against a brand new BMW/ Merc/ or Audi is a little tough, It is as big as the new S Class (we had them side by side) but the 1% details on the German cars are still what gets them across the line. If price was not a factor you wouldn't even look at the Hyundai (no Hyundai badges on the car by the way) but in this day and age price is one of the biggest motivators when buying a new car, so we think it will do well in a shrinking Lux car market

What Hyundai is offering to those of us who cannot afford a German taxi, who probably have never driven one anyway the opportunity to be that little bit closer to the opulence we strive for in our ride. at the price point I doubt many other manufacturers are offering a similar experience and I believe they probably will pull this one off! While I don't doubt that the Genesis is a good car and a far cry from what Hyundai have dished up in the past, it is competing with premium German brands at that price, and I don't think it's a battle that the Genesis can win, certainly not in a market where there are customers at that price range who may cherish the badge more than anything. If I had the money to buy a Genesis, I'd probably buy the C-class instead - not because the Genesis is no good, but because I'm a badge snob.

I agree the Genesis is not for everyone, so does Hyundai, they are only aiming to sell 1000 per year and have no doubt they will achieve it. I know expat Koreans going nuts for this car, they have scale models of Hyundai's on their shelves! And despite what people like zilo think, not everyone wants to be in a BMW MB or other euro trash. Despite what Hulk claims not everyone uses a car to display wealth status and appendage size. some people by a car to get from A to B, safely and reliably in a value for money purchase. I'm willing to bet there will be enough purchasers who will choose the big Hyundai over the smaller c class. I don't care if im wrong but just saying. JP |

I know if you’ve got a family and the kids are teenagers than the C Class is of no use as there is no leg room for adult size rear passengers.
I wouldn’t cross shop something as big as a Genesis for something as small as a C Class if I had to carry more than one passenger on a regular basis. Their prices may be similar but they fall into difference categories when it comes to size. |
