Well, I didnt better my time, a 14.666 for me, 95 mph, before i had a big single spinner moment and some huge banging. I think it might be an axle, but I dont know. Basically has a massive squeal when I turn, and then it feels like the whole diff is just hanging off, and banging on each side of the car, and makes grinding, zinging, crunching sounds.
No more racing for a while now, maybe once its supercharged LOL.

What a night. I think i seen you as you left monty. I was going to come up and say hello but everytime i did you were ready to line up.
Best run was 15.42 and thats a bone stock EB XR8. I had a line up with a VZ SS thunder and i lost by exactly 0.8398 so i cant be happier with the old girl. Cheers. Rodney.

Come to think of it, when I took off one of the wheels when I got there, (cant remember which one) it had oil coated around the inside of it rather thickly, which I thought was a little odd.
Im glad I have a spare diff here to throw in, still a pain in the **** though.

Was a fun night, pretty sure I saw you EB-92, and obviously saw you Monty :P
I ended up having 4 runs, each run getting a quicker time. First run was quite literally my first, ever, lol. So the nerves played their part. I didnt try and stall that one up, that was just stomp on it on the last yellow. That netted me a 16.436 @ 88.89mph. Second run I tried a little bit of stall, around 1100rpm (incidently, I usually get wheelspin at around this stall speed on the street) and felt like it could be stalled heaps more without any spin. That got me 16.347 @ 88.46mph. Third run I figured I'd try a decent amount of stall, maybe somewhere between 1500 and 1700. It got a bit fidgetey at that stall speed, but it held without jumping the staging beam. That run got me a 16.196 @ 89.01mph so I figured I was closer to the mark. Last run and I decided to go a bit harder, and this time I was ready for the back to fidget a little bit. Stalled to around 1800 and got a solid start. Not my fastest reaction time, but it felt like a much better launch. Last run got me 16.033 @ 88.84mph. Which is near as dammit to the 16 flat I'd hoped for. Obviously once I've learnt how to stall it properly on the track (a lot different to on the street) I think that time will come down further. My trap speed seems to be quite good, I just need to work on my launch, and for a first timer, I'm happy with my result. All in all, a new experience for me, lots to soak in, but a lot of fun.

Yeah i did see you. I think you and monty were the only ones with AU falcons there.
Those are great times for a first timer. That night was also my first time i thought id surely stuff it up which i did on my 2nd run, i missed 2nd gear and it ran me a 16.5. I just wanted to see what it could do before i put the 408 in it. A before after kind of thing. But as you said, Lots to soak in and alot of fun. Was a great night. Cheers. Rodney.

It was probably modded a bit, but I reckon he's just unbolted the exhaust.

Fair enough, didnt see the times. One things for sure, it was certainly loud! Louder than that cheapo looking VK.
Also, I found this gallery of the nite: http://www.dragphotos.com.au/gallery...2_itemId=27771 Some pics of 'The Blue Car' on page 1 and 8, and some of mine on page 11. Mine are not nearly as exciting tho :P

Heh, yeah I gave mine a hose and wipedown with quick detailer, just so it didnt look as bad as it did :P didnt seem to make much of a difference though. I've gotta give it a proper wash now anyway to get the numbers off..
Also what wheels were you running on the back Josh?

Well I got my exhaust issues fixed and I'm headed out to willowbank Tonight.
I don expect to better my 13.90 115mph (2.6sec 60')(wheelspin and stall issues) with the 13.6 or less I'd like as I'm running on my 20's(not going to drive 50k out of my way for a tyre swap) instead of the 15's I like to run. anybody else headed out? come say hi if you do, I'm in a black au xr8 ute with a red and black motox helmet.

Good luck mate! Once the car is sorted, I need to get some decent rubber before I head out! I am not pushing big power but I got troubles getting off the line with the stall / torque I have :(

cam it sound like where having similar issues. Tire's help big time with launching v8's
I've got some 15x10 steelies with some bridegestone a/t tyres that work well but I can't leave them on for the drive there as they scrub so they only get taken when I have a support vehicle to carry the jack and spare wheels. for tonight I'm headed up solo in full daily driver street trim but look forward to making it to the next forum willowbank night. speaking of tonight I better scramble. I will post up some results when I'm home be they good (14.5 or better) or embarrassing (15 or slower).

Yeah, I need something similar to your 15's!
I've got about 580nm at 2900rpm, and a 2800rpm stallie, it means any attempt to launch ends in smoke! Good luck mate!
