This member posted a download link, with instruction, on how to do it myself. One week on, the unit hasn't played up once. Three different dealers told me to virtually 'Live with it.

Be interested to know the kerb weight, Ford doesn't seem to have it published anywhere.

Considering its standard features, the ST should weigh about the same as a Fiesta Metal 3 door (you'd think)

Remember that figure looks like an inflated Euro figure, if not the power is very understated.

More i see the more i like, moreso than the Focus ST.

I get the impression that the new Fez ST is truer to the ideals of the previous Focus ST is than the new Focus ST.

Would have thought things such as a turbo, Recaro seats etc may change it a bit though? Find it weird Ford wants to shout the power figure all over their website (in the UK) but don't have the kerb weight figure anywhere. Makes you think it may be a bit heftier than they wanted it to be...

I've read claims of 0-100 between 6.6 and 6.9 seconds, and every reviewer raves about its handling.
I don't think weight is too much of an issue.

Agree, it's going to be quick. But makes you think how much quicker it could be possibly, especially if somebody tries stripping it out a bit for track days or something

Looks like they tested an ST2, id say base model wont have it. Hopefully Ford OZ use the same smarts they used with the Focus and give us a decent spec.

The weight is approx 1163kg. After doing a quick power to weight ratio. The Fez ST is 15kws/ton less than a Focus ST, but is only 1-2kws/ton less than a stock XR5.

That would be a Fiesta RS. I think it would be the easier way to go about making an RS model, compared to trying to turn the wick up on the Focus without it being a heavy, torque steering handful.

Seriously, maybe not a bad idea to get in now and specify the color you want.
There is a market for these types of cars (sub-$30k hot hatches). I remember hearing about the waiting times for the polo GTI when it came out, and Peugeot are taking orders for the 208 GTI (which I expect will be a lot dearer but the dealer can't actually give me a price).

From what I've read from overseas the Fiesta ST>208GTI>New Clio Sport.

Good question.

I can't see cruise control for the ST mentioned on Ford's UK site.

Ditto. This Fiesta looks awesome!

I was considering the Focus ST as my next car, but the seats in it
sort of broke the deal for me as they were too hard and tight. I just couldn't
see myself doing a 600km haul in them on a roadtrip. Any idea if the Fiesta ST
is going with the same type of Recaros?

Well as i have now purchased an ST, i can say the seats are a little hard but the car is barely a week old so ill give it time. I think i still like the look of the fez more, but i still love the focus.

I have been in an ST with a few more kms on board and the seats do loosen up a little.
I doubt the seats in the fez would be the same as focus, but i could be wrong.

Thanks for the heads up there DJM. It will be great to check one of these new Fiestas
out in a Ford yard when they arrive.

Admittedly, the $41k price on the new Focus was pretty steep for me, but the Fiesta
at say $28k d/a (?) could be easier to part with the doh-re-me!

If the Fiesta is as good as the Focus you wont have a worry. Dunno if it will have as many features as the Focus but that doesnt matter. If it drives as good your onto a winner, i was considering a Fiesta aswell.

Does anybody know what the fuel economy figures for the ST are?
