The favourite one had a 1380cc 1100S belt driven monster from a super sedan + 4w drums. But I always wanted to do this.

My admission? Well, I guess I've always wanted a very clean Mk1 VW Golf in pale orange done up with a hint of rat style. I probably wouldn't even drive it much. It'd be a thing of beauty - to look at Yeah I'd love that.... |

heres mine
smart fortwo 1.0L turbo lowered remapped ecu and lots and lots more mods, faster than a stock 5.0L injected holden (yes for real no bull)terrible economy, lowered handled most corners great, stock was scary... hat the speed limiter reset to a genuine 180km/h and it reached it easy under 900kg with 70rwkw at one stage, not a rocket but quicker across an intersection than my 311rwkw FG turbo, well untill the smart shifted into 2nd anyway (50km/h) seriously i really miss the car, but i could not deal with the attention it got.. nothing like the old model and way way way faster than the non turbo pos they have.. and another a MAGNA!! seriously, this car was better in pretty much every way than my current G6Eturbo, just slower in a straight line 5 auto from an evo (nicer box imho than the ZF, more seemless... ZF is a tad over rated) All wheel Drive, no wheelspin.... except when you stalled it up and launched in the wet... fun, at least it had an lsd in the rear! and lastly it was supercharged.... the supercharger was also the death of the engine once tuned as was the case with all boosted magnas LOL should have run 13's but when run in a lower state of tune only pulled 14.4's on 20's full street trim all day long, consistant though (non intercooled 6psi sprintex kit) |

The TJs weren't a bad vehicle.
My Mum had a TJII manual VRX in Wasp Yellow. Nice vehicle. And fun to drive as well. Very smooth and effortless ... and whisper quiet as well for a stocker.

I had one of these about 20 years ago. Wish I still had one and still regret having ever listened to my old man. I've been on the search for it now for many years hoping to buy it back.

Refer to your own signature.
My admission is that I am a big fan of the modern Monaros and would have one of the last CV8's any day of the week.

[QUOTE=loftie]My dirty little car secret is - I always wanted (and kinda still do) a 1988 Ford KE Laser TX3 Turbo AWD...
Though I wanted to paint it bright/fluro lime green... Still would love to get my hands on a fairly original one though... they're hard to find in AWD and they are becoming collectable... Great fun car to drive... Not as fun as the Clevo 351... ; I came across a smashed one of these way back when on the lookout for a replacement engine for my Mk1 Cortina. I though it would have been pretty cool to remove & install all running gear etc. to create an AWD Cortina. Didn't happen though. |

Aside from the drivetrain being a massive POS, my TP Magna was wonderful car to plod around in. Comfortable, quiet, nice suspension & one of the nicest designs to be churned out of the 80s.

I have owned (and loved) 3 Volkswagens in my past, my first was a '56 Beetle, then a VW wagon, then a '72 Beetle, great cars, very clever technology used.
Plus, I considered buying a Holden Jackaroo once, but I came to my senses after my twin sons said that they would beat the **** outta me if I bought a ******* Holden -

I think the TR Magna was the best looking Australian built car in the early 90's, and I'm also considering buying an HSV Senator at the end of the year.

Even though I'm a fan of small cars, I never thought I'd say this: That Smart car is pretty badass.
All my life I've wanted a classic Mini, but this would do in a pinch: The 2001 Daihatsu Mira Gino "Minilite". I drove a little Daihatsu van overseas when I was a teenager, and it was virtually unkillable.

All excellent cars, all quicker than a Falcon or Commodore, better put together, the motors actually have a sweet sound and are very responsive and free-revving (unlike the hoary GM V6), they are light, look good, the doors shut with a thump unlike the Falcon which is much heavier, they are economical, and the Veradas are just a class act all round. Only downsides are FWD, low towing capacity and they are a little smaller inside than the Falcon. Nothing to be ashamed of with them at all. If they were RWD, perhaps Aussies would have warmed to them more. Although the demise of MMA was probably largely to do with the press and MMC bosses. Excellent thread. I'd also happily have a Golf GTI of any series, and I'd love a 350Z! Not too keen on the 370 though.... |
