Even though i have one and i love it to death, I've noticed that quad tip exhausts are the new craze too..

some are brilliant, some are just disgusting, read: i saw a mid 1990's alpha (the 2.5 or 3L v6) with quad cannons and a hacked up rear bar... just made me shake my head

I did see an XW/XY sedan in the 80's at a caryard it looked liked a GT,bright red, stripes, shaker and 14x10" 12 slotters on the rear and 14x8's on the front. Looked real mean, until you seen the brown interior with col auto and bench seat, oh not to mention the shaker sitting on the rocker cover of a log-head 250 SIX CYLINDER!!!
My absolute pet hates are those utes with all the stickers, spotlights and aerials and the rice racers with the tailpipe diameter in direct proportion to their tacho and shift light and their shopping list on the side of the front gaurds.

I had a 3.5 inch exhaust into a 5 inch cannon on a lowered S15...still love the way it looked, and it suited the car...saw a 5 inch cannon on a dual cab SR5 hilux, not so much...
I have no problem with fitting hsv/hdt bodykits on old commodores as long as they were designed for the car originally (vn-vp kits for vn-vp cars, vt-vx for vt-vx) despite what anyone says, you can't cross models

Chopped front bars with big fmic's hanging out.
painted calipers
stretched tyres
rediculous kits
rediculous camber
coloured mesh
pods visible from outside the car
blocking of bovs so your turbo flutters
cheap rims with average offset
shitty stick on flares
anything stick on for that matter

New one for me is front drive cars with a staggered offset such that the rear rubber is wider. Saw an Accord Euro with it last week and a 98ish Celica with it yesterday.

Another one was exhausts dumping before the diff on a stock 6 cylinder. That gripe is a little more specific though...

Spray Painted images on cars. It always looks , and its always a chick painted on the car, and it never really looks like who its meant to look like. That and its expensive, and from the examples I've seen for sale, it does nothing to increase the worth of the car.

I don't know about the others that have commented on it, however, I was merely making fun of its presence on cars. I'd always had a suspicion it was a brand of some description, since most one word/logo stickers that people do have on their cars represent a brand.

Maybe you could come up with a symbol that is more aussie and instantly recognisable?
A kangaroo? as opposed to a navigation point used by the brits, the dutch the portugese and anyone with a boat in the southern seas from the 1600's.

you cannot seriously be suggesting that we should have the right to do to our car as we please, are you

should we not have to run it by the brain trust to confirm that it is ok first??

i had actually thought the gtho type spoiler on a lesser car, removing the honeycomb and adding the ltd badge on a fairmont, the xa tail lights, the fake brake ducts, the xw courtesy lights, the landau dash, with custom console and parcel shelf, xc bonnet and xc style front spoiler was going to make everyone love my car. how disappointing it was to know that i was the only one who loved it. luckily no one knows it runs on bbq fuel - i could get ridiculed big time for that

there is also another reason why people do that stuff to cars is because not everyone can afford the top of the range of any particular model....so over a period of time they do add ons to distinguish a base model from all the others. i have done the same with my VE. its a taxi pack with hub caps, so i bought Caprice rims to spruce it up a bit. if i could afford a GT Falcon or HSV I wouldnt think of touching it as it alreally has the 'good bits' on it.
