I guess if you say it long enough it'll make it true.

We're the same vintage - I started trucks in '72 (or maybe '73).

Not afraid to admit that even though my skills were high my reaction times would have been average as is the case with most truck drivers.

I did gain good anticipation though. Who'd have thought that was a thing?

Anyhoo, Trev old fruit, it's been fun but I'll bow out of our little discourse as it gets a bit old after a while.

Cheers...

possibly, but not because of their mileage, but because of their use of stimulants.

Caffeine....?

Real truck drivers didn't need caffeine.
Pseudoephedrine (speed) was plenty good enough
(and before we get drawn into some long, drawn out "illegal" diversion, I might add it was legal to buy over the counter until around 1978 - in Qld at least. Dosage was another story, lol)

When I was a reckless young chap, I helped some friends move house. One was a lactating mother.

My evil streak saw me sit her down with a cup of tea as she was flagging, and load her up with caffeine and guarana pills...

Her kid stayed awake for a whole week, legend has it.

I have no issue with people disagreeing with me but I have issue when it gets personal, which seems to be a trait of said group - sorry for being generic, so, as they say "if the caps fits wear it"
