Also, the only reason these cars are $200,000 here is our overinflated taxes. So I'm actually comparing $70,000 cars to $105,000 cars. Which have 100% of their proper value taxed. Not so far fetched when you remove that from the equation, is it? Just look at the US list price, they don't have any of the greed tax we do, $82,500 US for the M5. That's $99,614.42 AU.

Also, I'm speaking from real life experience here. Again, have you driven any of the contenders we're talking about or seen them in action in real life?

Blah blah blah.

Competitors???? No they are not.
END OF STORY.

Keep living in your fantasy world where cars with completely differant values are in the same market.

Because they are not.

Stop talking ****, look at this video to see how 700Nm (2650rpm~4000rpm) E55 get killed by 520Nm M5.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0J3rhgaaQ8

I can't see there are many video clips showing M5s get smoked by E55s (stock vs stock - F6s not even close)

Steffo,

in the 12 od months that you've had your red P's you've obviously driven (illegally?) an enourmosly large aray of high priced, high powered vehicles to have such comprehensive and strong experiences and opinions!
You've been very fortunate indeed!

12 months odd that I've had my red P's? Shows how little you know.

Welcome to 2 years ago.

Fortunate, definitley! However uninformed, unintelligible drivel such as the above displayed from yourself gets tiresome. :togo:

Steffo, as per your profile, you were born in 1988. In your 19 years of life (3 of which you have legally had the right to be behind the wheel on public roads), you display immense knowledge of presstige European cars, and their similarities to the humble Australian car. I wish I too had the experience you seem to have when I was your age :

Meanwhile, you argue with 4Vman, a valuable and knowlegable member of the forums, who is nearing his 40th birthday, and who has probably had more cars than you've had female encounters. I can obviously see how you know so much more than the rest of us Steffo.

Don't confuse your opinions, no matter how strongly you believe in them, with facts!

So what if he has had 40 birthdays and I have had 19 of them? Does that automatically mean I can't have seen, sat in, been driven in or have driven anything? I don't claim to have driven or even been in every car out there... the most noteable cars I have driven, if I must explain myself are...

1998 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, six-speed manual
2003 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG
2006 FPV F6 Typhoon, 6sp auto
2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI DSG (that gearbox is unbelievable)

I didn't and don't own, nor can I afford any of them. But that doesn't mean it's not possible to meet/know people who do own them, and guess what, be offered a drive! And just because I've had the right to drive on public roads for three years doesn't mean I couldn't have driven off them, on private property, before then (which I have done, in farm beaters).

I base my opinion on fact. Accumulated from documented fact and real life experience. I don't claim to know more then everyone else here, I know what I know and I leave it at that. It's a popular pass-time of some to try to pick on my opinion on this forum, whether I'm right or wrong seems irrelevant. If you feel that I'm not a knowledgeable or valueable member of this forum, which your post does seem to point to, feel free to keep thinking that way. However don't accuse me of a lack of any knowledge or experiences without any truth to your accusation, just basing it on a misconception of others, and saying something for the sake of saying something.

Apologies but after constant pot shots from certain people, the the difference between that and someone making a light hearted joke has become somewhat hazy.

No one really cares what sort of cars you've taken around the block. You could have driven every Lambo and Farrari ever made. It wouldn't automatically make you an expert critic. Only age and experience will do that.

Mate, I don't know you from a bar of soap, and I don't have a problem with you. But if you find people keep picking at you, maybe it's for a reason.... I think maybe you over-estimate your popularity and fame...... sleep:

Regardless of what the equivilent value would be, the fact is, they are over $100K apart in real life here, and appeal to a differnet class. The M5 & AMG are on a different playing field to the GT-P.

You can't base performance on one video. Go and do a bit of homework and come back with some stats of real life driving to back up what you're saying

And his opinion is exactly the same as mine in this instance. It's one video. On the internet. Yipee, it must be gospel.
