I'm not really feeling the F150-ish front and the body looks a little more slab-sided than the current styling. Men seem to like a beefier looking truck so I'm sure it'll be a hit with tradies. |

Yeah true. It was only a few years ago that you could get an XLT for low 50’s (what I paid). 60k would get you into a wildtrak. Have no idea what the RRP was at the time though.

Ford considered a Raptor Everest (current model) but apparently the cost to modify the rear guards was too restrictive.

Yep, this. There was one hand built, and it looked mint. But the cost of re-doing the rear guards for flares vs the potentially low number of sales killed it. Sadly though, todays sales figures doubling since those days might have helped push it.

Every model needs a hero. Ranger Raptor surely would of helped push Wildtrack sales.

Rear disc brakes, v6, sync 4. Will put a lot of pressure on Toyota Hilux then. Their only counter would be the detuned diesel v6 from the Toyota 300 Landcrusier ( or wait 2 years for their new hybrid) . But ford would have a good 18-24months on them I expect to make hay while the sun shines. I am just hoping for a bit better gvm and a decent fuel tank size as well.

A bit shallow but those twin pipes hanging out the rear of the ute are giving me a woody. Haven't had a Ranger since the PX1's rolled off the boat, but the new looks, and prospective grunt are steering me back with a vengeance. A bit different to the little FiST but the kids still miss the PX1. Thank you FoA you're on a winner. Can't imagine the petrol getting a gander in AU but that diesel V6 ought to be a cracker. Roll on reveal.

After a life of diesels which used to be more reliable but less powerful, now diesels are complicated , have to deal with injector issues, , dpf’s , turbos, adblue, diesel fuel quality, emissions etc etc
I will take a new petrol ranger in a heartbeat. But that’s just me. I was hoping for the coyote Px3 ranger but realise ford canned that after the prototype and I got my deposit back. Maybe we will get a v6 twin turbo raptor but if they only bring a diesel out, there is always the chance to import the new F150 v8 raptor from the US and convert it. You will not beat my cunning petrol plans Ford Motor Company! |

I'm hoping for the petrol in the Raptor and hopefully with the spy spots they have the 5 link coil in the rear over the watts coil overs....
