Three years since the Chiron has been released and Bugatti have not yet unleashed it's full potential. Why the delay?

Last i heard was, because they are speed limited to 410?, they can’t then remove the limiter and claim the record for speeds above that. So if they can’t claim a new record then why bother?

That is the common consensus on the internet. According to Bugatti the Chiron is good for approximately 465km/hr.

WHY ? .....The point of going that speed is ..... Enlighten me someone . Some idiot will die doing stuff like this ..Rather have a look at Ferrari's or Lambo's or Porsches instead in this genre of supercars to be honest but that's just me .

Three years since the Chiron was released and Bugatti have not yet unleashed its full potential. Speed is limited to 420km/hr which is lower than the 431km/hr achieved by the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport.

Wow. Man first broke the 300 MPH barrier in 1935. Now it can be achieved in a production car.

490km/h is a decent speed!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuS_bXJNync I read this one is slightly modified to standard, with an extra tune up to give it another 100hp (but at those speeds that would only give you what 5kph?! Also it is 25 cm longer than standard with a longer tail and has the air brake wing removed. |

Probably the reason why it only did a single pass and not the expected double pass with average speed over the 2 runs used to calculate the speed to be used for the test. ( 1 pass in 2 separate directions to negate any tailwind advantage ) At 2000hp the wick would have been wound off the scale and a second pass would have welded the engine up.
