Is there going to be much contrast to the rocker cover? I would of thought it would better if most of it was Mercury like you were saying.

The blue would look good straight down the middle section and the lettering and the rest silver.

Just my opinion.

Daring to be different LOL. I thought about it, and thought about it, and thought some more. And I will trial fit before I go with too much detail. There is a fair whack of polished gear under there, so I am trying not to overwhelm the detail. I'm looking for a formula... LOL

Ready to go on the engine. Might try to do that on Sunday, busy weekend. But I'm fairly happy with the result.

Thanks Ron. I'm kinda bankin' on it, as I didn't test it under the bonnet for match. I guess I can always redo it... LOL

Well today was a good day to fit the engine cover, and my Son Aaron was keen to lend a hand. As usual. The fruit of our labours.

It came out overall better than I imagined. I am thouroughly happy with the outcome.

Did I give you the idea for that color scheme in my earlier post or was that the look you were gogin for all the time? If so that pretty spooky that I new the finished product before it was finished.

Queue the music indeed man, 'cause the look was planned. Although I hesitated, thus your post came in. I had to think of how best to mask the job, and after plastic primer, I painted Narooma first. That way it had a dark base. Narooma over silver probably would have changed the hue. Filing the old Ford emblem away was the most time consuming I think, even with a dremel tool. And the back bolt? Hmmm didn't have one. If you mean the hex head one holding the tube clip, it only holds the clip.

The only thing i'd do now is get some stainless allen key bolts that hold the cover down instead of those crappy black ones.

looks very nice, I should pull mine off again and re do it.

Matt

Haven't seen the computer cover, but add $15 postage to Vic on one item. Nice gear though. I'm leaning towards radiator and power steering caps.
