who actually voted for a model different than what they drive:hihi:
I am a sucker for an EL XR8 with the full kit and the Tickford 16" rims. Had the budget not extended to the AU I reckon thats what Id be in. AUIII XR's with the Rebel Kit, nice and low look great too, always liked them.

AU series 1 XR closely followed by series AU II and EF and EL models
EF's are my favourite. Why? - because of the series 1 bodykit and that crazy bi plane spoiler. I love it BA and BF have a tough look but the AU and EF-EL are just so different to the standard models. I hate those forte headlights.

1. AU2/3 XR - modern, sleek looking car, love the sharp edges
2. BA XR - abit bland but makes up for it as an awesome drivers car 3. EF/El - looked really good in its day, but getting fairly old in the tooth these days with such a square shape and flat roof/boot line 4. ED/EB - the original, good car in its own right |

The BA XRs don't look much different to an XT - wow a little scallop out of the front bar to make it different. Whoopee!!! And the difference is even harder when a BF XT has a similar shape lower grille to a BA XR. Of course, the BA/F FPV range is so far different, that they are the toughest looking falcons behind the T3s, but the question was XR!

BA/BF for sure. the only thing that !@#$% me off with them though is that when i see 30 xr6s every day on the roads, it does dilute the look of them somewhat. The EF/EL would come a close second to the Bs.

only good XR had steel bars, when ford lost steel bars they lost some style. All the hottest, toughest looking cars every built had steel bars

Well folks i will add my 2 cents worth ive owned mostl models of the xr range except ef & el i must say the my 67 xr fairmont V8 was a really cool car in the 80s went like a bat out of hell with the sweet 289 extractors and twin system plus those big 8inch 12 slotters . Eb Xr8 Black pearl auto loved it nice and clean look ,then a red XR8 Sprint man a performance car plenty of go in a light shell, Au3 XR8 Silver auto lowered light handled well just run out of puff, and lastly 3 BA XR8s all Manuals, Mercury Silver Leather 18s lowerd Herrod Exhaust quick car i loved, next Phantom ,leather, premium sunroof lowered pacemakers nice looking car a bit of a slug and now Black, Leather sunroof ,premium 18s Difillippos headers blue power airbox a bit of a rocket and i will keep this one buts its funny i really like those ELXR8s in green nice car man maybe one day lol.

I would have to sat the EL XR was by far the most aggresivly styled and best looking car of it's time. Well rounded, low and mean, no other Australian car company came close to producing a head turner like that.

EL has a 'grille' (a hole), and the quad lights on the EL, are more 'smoothed' into the bar, the EF ones are light some took a hole saw to the bar.

My first car was a XW with a fully worked 3.6l auto it was my fav car but the Ba XR,s are great in different ways. My XR8 sprint was another top car heaps of grunt but had to sell that to buy a house. Its hard to choose a fav out of them all.
