my wagon will be getting 20% on the wind down windows and a layer of 35% covered by a second layer of 20% on the rear windows to help hide the sound system that will be in it. my opinion is window tinting is a definate must

Always have, always will. With the dark interior of the car, it helps a bit more with security. It also adds to the appearance, and the temperature difference helps out aswell.

Cannot get by without Tint. Have 5% rear with extra 30% added on top, 18% on sides with extra 30% added to rear door windows on my Rapid T. Looks awesome, keeps the car cool and unless driving into the sun could easily drive without sunnies on. Good security for car and when driving with misses stops all those perving truckers checking her out.

I'd like to get mine done at some stage. It would really improve the appearance of the car (make it slightly less stock) and would be better in the summer.

I will do it sometime but since you can't have it anymore than 30-35% darkness, some may think why bother.
You also have to be careful where you get it done, some amateurs out there

Hi Matt,

Can you confirm if is 30% here in SA? Im looking to get my car redone as its peeling from the bottom of my passenger front window and I want to get it as darkest legal tint. Also where abouts is a really good place in SA for getting tint done?

Cheers
Shav

Is it illegal to have 2 layers of darkest legal tint on your car?

I need to know what is the darkest legal for SA. It might be different here. Anyone?

My wagon is tinted. I need to get it redone. To many scratches and rips in the tint caused by carrying things.

My new cars are tinted but IMHO tint doesn't suit older cars. The XB GT had purple tint, that lasted all of a day.

I tend to agree with you there. Tint looks best on newer vehicles in my opinon too.

My BA Was tinted when i picked it up, and here is a note for the kiddies, My windows are with out a doubt, darker then legal. and it has casued me to run over a rock of the night time when turning full lock slowly, damaging my front bar.

its too dark to see out of, i beleive had the wondows NOT of been tinted, i "may" of seen it.

Needless to say, the windows keep the tint, it looks fookin cool, but now i have to upgrade to a GT front bar :( But i know to take more care when turning at night time.
