i didn't realise 2 letters on a boot would actually change history, or alter peoples perception of history

Im just glad this thread as some good civil discussion, and not a FPV bag out fest.
Lots of interesting views in both directions, At a rough guess, "GT 351" is the most common suggestion, how ever, i think after the Boss 260, 290, 302, 335 etc...it might be a bit of a farce. And as we know, what the sticker says isn't the truth, thanks to the Miami.

fg falcon/FPV i6T's have been a bit notoriuos for under quoting power figures before the Miami came along. -Better than being under!
GT 351 closest to a "HO" without being a "HO"..... |

Was HO "High-Output" or "Handling-Option"? Either way, there are plenty of things that can be done to upgrade the GT, and plenty of options for some kind of track special. Increase the power of the brakes, turn up the boost, and tune the suspension to keep it planted. And for goodness sake, add some magnetic ride control, for tune adjustment.

Heres where the problem lies. The original HO's were built especially for series production racing, as the old saying goes 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday'. For a current version of the HO to fit the bill it would need to be a limited build with its criterior capable of holding its own in a modern version of series production racing. It just so happens that every year there is a race weekend held on the hallowed ground that is where the HO legend began...Bathurst. If Ford were to release another HO it would need to be able to hold its own against the WRX's and EVO's etc. etc. around Bathurst, and capable of being driven home afterwards Anything less would not live upto the Legend that most Ford fans hang their hat on, the P3HO. Question is, what would it take to make a V8 Falcon GTHO finish first in a 'production car' race under current regs... I believe it would become to expensive to ever see realisation...W427... Atleast thats what they'll tell ya. |

Ford are running out of time. Either they put out a modern GT-HO within the next 3-4 years based on the Falcon or it is going to be consigned to history forever.
They wouldn't DARE but GT-HO on a Taurus.....................would they?

No Badges other than - FPV on the boot and grilles and Supercharged on the sides . A bit like Merc do with Kompressor. I would not offer a stripe pack either.

Just for the record, GT-H was registered because of the possibility of a limited number of vehicles being made available for rental by Hertz. Whilst still possible, this has not, as yet, eventuated.

How about GT-T? The T for Tuned or Track also a small throwback to the T-series.

The GT-H was going to be the intercooled version to sit on top of the range. Was put on hold as far as i'm aware. |

Tempest will most likely be the long awaited GT-H.

Sounds like the Panther is more of a stop-gap...
Doesn't make a great deal of sense "hey, here is the GT-XX edition, same power, but with things painted red and wider tires, and 2 months later you can have the same thing, but with more power..." Don't get me wrong, this is great news, im just a little confused lol.

Makes sense to me.
Limited editions sell and for top dollar. So fpv spend a few grand per car on some new stickers bigger rims etc and sell them at a premium rather than discounting the carp out of them like they are now with regular gt. |

Ford and fpv need to sell more cars, and if that means using the gtho name, so be it! From the above post, it should be for the tempest...
Otherwise another option is to simply call it the "beast"

Realistically if it had better suspension, wider tyres and 375kw what else does it need to justify the GT-HO name tag?
Fastest four door is never going to be a likely option. So what else?
