Current owner has now got the original BJG plates back on the car. Kirk would have bought it in 1978, sold it in the mid 80s I see it also wore "RL" plates at some stage, this would have been Robert Lahood (who owned it twice). I assume that plate was on the car before the "KG" Plates. so it went

[QUOTE=Stefan;5189327]KG plate was the Tradie, Kirk Gra.....something, he sold back to the car yard Lahood Motors wearing that plate. The current owner bought it from Lahood with those plates still attached.

All's good yes same dealer Lahoods If you look to the back of both photo's there is a long brick building with white window both the same just different years as is the sign writing. That's what threw me I thought there was a Lahoods on Canterbury Rd as well.. You explained it make sense now..Thank You I will try and find Alex Spiteri as it was his Brother or something.. All the best.. Thank you all...

I can tell you that the XA you were in, DEFINITELY WASN'T the XA GTHO Phase IV. As you have now purchased the magazines, you would have seen the complete history of the Phase IV and the actual people who have owned and when they have owned it. There never has been anyone by the name of Alex Spiteri that has owned the XAGTHO Phase IV. It would have been a similar XA GT that you were in that day and that is all but thanks for sharing your story though Cheers Roy

I would say no one would have bothered back then, no one had camera phones, no one carried cameras around, how many people would go around with a camera taking photos of cars sitting in car yards….my guess would be very few.

Could be a marketing ploy...to show a potential buyer that the sunroof doesn't leak. Imagine someone test-driving this in the wet that was interested in trading-in their XY 250 with factory Auto for it? lol.
