I'm extremely happy with my GT Forester.
The later model XT's are even better, and damn quick!
0-100 in 6 seconds anyone? Probably not much slower on dirt either.

And there certainly isn't the depreciation pain that you get with a new taxi... I mean falc ;)

really? i know someone with a slightly modded my02 wrx. it handles like a dream! cant get it to lose around a corner. has outrun a f6 typhoon from 80k's and taken on an slk320, a xy v8, a torana v8, numerous rice 4 bangers, cv8z monaro and didnt lose to any of them. not once. i dont particularly like wrx's but find me a car that can do that for 23k that is only 5 years old? this could be a freak car but damn its quick.

Some unbiased thinking wouldn't go astray.
They are a fantastic car. Unfortunately the 'crowd' that often hide inside aren't too desirable though. Out of the box they are very quick bit of transport.

Look back through MOTOR magazines BFYB and let me know what you find. I'd imagine a WRX features every year and is rated pretty close to the top!

And modding a subaru is hardly expensive. Thanks to some forward thinking by the Japanese, just about every part is interchangeable irrelevant of the build date. Which is more than I can say for the falcons I've fallen so deeply in love with.

he payed 23k for the car 3" turbo back exhaust (i think may be 3.5) standard top mount, cai, chipped, aftermarket fuel pump engine is unopened afaik. mystery suspension dang it handles good 19" wheels wrapped in michellin rubber. i kid you not this car is quick and you want find a quicker newer car for the money. all work done by MRT i was with him when he smacked the cv8z also. he cant believe what it does either.

im no wrx fan but this car surprised me. it might just be a freak who knows but all ive said about it is honest truth.

Is that counting the dead body in the boot lol?

Even with a Falcon or Commodore (both large cars) it's hardly comfortable to fit 5 people in. Well that's my oppinion anyway.

Fitting 5 people (comfortable or not comfortable) in a WRX, is not going to happen! I know this because I own one.

WRX's are very cheap to mod. Too bad I have no bloody money!

I was recently thinking of selling my car and buying a VL turbo, it's just so much easier to make them quick etc, but I don't think I could see my self driving one and they look ugly, and the interior is also ugly...........

The interiors put me off the most as well. The CT's are sweet but the dash setup is crap.

Exactly, if only they made more factory turbo falcons like your's Dan with tremec boxes from factory, i'd buy one of them and never downgrade to anything else!

I think VL exteriors are not bad. They car looks presentable and neat (when it isn't a rusted pile of poo that is).

But the interiors are hard plastic with square edges. That's where the XF kicked the pants off the VL IMO.

Ferrari F40 LM and anything Maserati.

In reality, a Daimler Majestic Major or a Daimler 250 V8 Saloon, Maserati BiTurbo or an R32 GTR.

If you are doing hard launches along with extreme mods, you get a stronger box like any other car.

This is where RWD has the advantage of allowing the rears to easily spin as it takes away some of strain.

Plenty of cars would tempt me in the 'money doesn't matter' catagory.

Realistically its this - VW Golf .:R32

I just ordered one, due early next year. To me it's the total package, all-wheel drive, 6-speed DSG gearbox, lowered, 18" wheels, dual exhaust, leather seats, V6, etc. Its reasonably fuel efficient, and pretty quick too, 0-100 in 6.2, not bad for its size.

Going to be a sad day when the BA XR8 ute goes but in the end I feel im going to a better car.

They look like a top car. Very nice choice. 0-100ks in 6.2seconds is decent in anyones books. But at 66k+ it would want to be. :

Looks like a nice car but do they really cost that much?

For that money I'd take a Lancer Evolution.

I paid $62500 on the road. Still expensive, but not a bad price considering the demand.

A Lancer Evo is a nice car, but it has none of the luxury or mod cons that the R32 has. It's more 'balls out' and less refined. Not really what I was after.

They're much faster then that, 6.2 sec is just a claim. The old MkIV R32 has a manual was more like 5.9-5.8 0-100km/h.
