All we need is a montage of 1980s wall street people wearing aviators, answering the phone with some retrosynth music to the background for our Corona ad.

With some boomer in the back ground whinging about 20% mortgage rates.

Was the front wheel drive Coronas available in the Aus market?
Always thought the last two generations were a decent looking car for their day, drove pretty good as well (apparently). Nearly non existent now.

I would have thought boxy 80's - early 90's look would be right up your alley.

btw if you are going to learn measurements in building terms use mm's.

Not long after the XD was released there was an ex Ford Motor Company XC Fairmont Hardtop with 351 4 Speed Manual in the Dark Metallic Green with a Black Vinyl Roof, Sunroof and all the Options at Alan Coffey Ford in Ringwood.
I thought it looked sensational.

Today: VN Calais, dark blue, original green/white Vic plates, parked on someone's lawn; Vicroads check says it's registered to 18 August this year.

Yesterday: first gen. Prius; Sunday: a mate's ZD Fairlane.

My new car, well it's 10 years old, and it sends the chicks wild.

Luckily it has central locking.

Nope, the bloody red chick magnet has a 5 speed manual gearbox.

Did you know that a Fiat 500 travelling at 80km/h can overtake an XR6 Turbo travelling at 70km/h?

The one that was circa $35K here was a joke in comparison to the Fiesta ST at the same price point, you really needed to be keen on the emotional side of it to justify purchasing that thing I reckon.

As far as Abarth goes, I don't like convertibles but I'd be keen on the Abarth 124, it's a less gay version of the Mazda MX5,

It's built by Mazda but powered by Fiat, so it's got forced induction rather than naturally aspirated 4 cylinder boat anchor like the MX5.

Naturally aspirated 4 and 6 cylinder engines in this day and age should be a human rights violation.

Spotted a very early BA FPV GT-P in Blue Pearl this morning. Looked and sounded so good.

Then a Envy Green BA GT was sitting at the at the lights in the opposite direction.

Mk 1 Golf yesterday, red with white stripes and 'Citi' name. I looked it up:

Also: three XE sedans in a backyard, apparently been there for a while

And a Nissan Skyline GX 3.0, original condition, full reg., daily driver.

Done another cross country, and basically Aussie cars are what you don't see many of anymore across the Nullarbor.

Props to the mad lad going over in AUII Champagne gold forte.

Once in SA, however... it was thick with VYs more than any other older car. This time counted more VYs > VEs > VF's s
VF's seemed thin on the road, at 10 years old.

Not too many BA/BF, and a reasonable amount of FG1s once you get to the south east of the country. A couple of Territory SZs going over, and more Territories once out in the wheatbelts than Falcons.

All LandCruisers once bush really.
Instead of the old Aussie cars on the big runs now, and I saw quite a few Subys, and Mazda/Hyundai/Kia SUVs going over. But mostly it's Toyota.
