- Visitor doesn't want to have to prove they're not carrying a contagious and potentially lethal virus... and doesn't have to. They win because they don't get forced to do something they don't want to do.
- Person who is being visited doesn't end up risking the safety of their family and doesn't have to tell visitor that they're not welcome, also a win. They may or may not also re-evaluate the viability of the friendship with someone who has no concern for other people and won't increase other peoples' chances of not getting sick by way of taking a quick non-invasive test, but that'll probably vary.

What would be the issue with anyone taking a test though? Where is the harm? Why decline and leave?
The people I socialise with are very close friends whom I trust quite well being responsible, don't need to ask them every time I see them to do a RAT test or vice versa, I intend to live my life as normal as possible not being paranoid, you however may do what pleases you.

Just heard legislation in NSW has been updated to now make presenting a fake or fraudulent vaccine certificate a crime.

Would have thought this was the case by default. Falsifying an official government document?

All APC powders including Bex and Vincent's were banned in Australia in 1977, they caused so much kidney damage to users that there were not enough dialysis machines available to cope!

I remember going to work in Fairfield Sydney in the early 70's and stopping at the Commercial Hotel to get a pack of ciggies every morning, they were cheaper there, all the old winos who mainly wore business suits were at the bar drinking shots of fortified wine 40% proof by volume, they would be shaking so much it was served in middie glasses, they used to shake so much they would spill it everywhere, but without fail each and everyone of em had 4 or 5 empty APC papers on the bar next to them, Bex powders were lethal, but it taught me one thing that I have stuck by all my adult life, never drink alcohol before noon, weekends included, only breaking that rule if we had to finish off a keg by noon, from the party the night before!

PS- If you were late back with the keg and glasses, you forfeited your deposit, you never sent em back with beer in em!

Glasgow is a luvvie talkfest without Jacinta and other national leaders from Russia, China, Iran, Brazil and Mexico. Plus Lizzy and the Pope are giving it a miss as well.

I hear the Y3K bug will also be on the agenda unless of course the 1.5 0.3 temperature increase over 100 years doesn't fry the chips before then.

Ya wanna know something else?

I drove south to Emu Park today. At Yap-Hoon it was 28 degrees and at Emu Park it was 30 degrees - that 2 degree increase burnt the shirt off my back and melted my sunglasses.

We are all gunna die I tell ya!

This has me intrigued. If a premises declines to recognise proof of vaccination as tendered, the pressure is now on them to report a suspected offence… While the penalty level does not make failure to report an offence in itself, it hearkens to the late KFB Packer at a Senate inquiry: “You’re either going to have to believe me, or start calling me a liar”.

I was asked to "loan" my double vax certificate yesterday to one of the "4" to use at his work as a welder, this is Mr 140 plus IQ, like I said earlier in the thread, high IQ does not equate in any way shape or form to common-sense.

I said it has all of my personal govmint info on it you idiot, he said he would just put random stuff, I said there is an IHI number that is like a personal identifier, I ended up just telling him to get vaxxed, I even asked my GP if I bring 4 people here unannounced could the nurse give them a vaccination there and then, his answer was " yes " the more the merrier, bloody unreal eh, so it does happen CB!

One quote that has stuck with me to this day "every time you pass a law, you take someone's privileges away from them". Has some relevance to today.

BTW, as I said before in my flu post I'm completely against the segregation of vaxxed/unvaxxed. For the gov or employers to ask for it as the condition of employment I'm fine with - there's many other conditions for employment, health, airlines that we've already accepted so that's also fine.

But to have bouncers (read: just regular staff) to have to vet patrons on entry to a regular business is absurd. No one would want that job and deal with antivaxxers etc. It's unfair to the employees - they're not bouncers or cops. Stay shut until it can be open to all patrons.

Have just been browsing the menu for Borsch, Vodka & Tears, noting it’s getting closer to being a practical visit from Sydney, once again. Maybe post-January, as things start to settle.

I can't wait for when it's time to get your tenth booster shot but the unvaccinated are still the problem.

Actually most likely it will be the 9th blaming the 8th and the 8th blaming the 7th etc.

Not only that, if a restaurant has a policy that they want to see proof you are double vaxed, then it is only fair and right that each staff member shows you that they are double vaxed before they serve you.

I mean you don't wanna get a death sentence from unvaxed staff now do ya?

I heard some other bloke dribble the same thing, and while I am yet to be bothered to read the T&C's surely if an establishment is making it a requirement for customers then staff are subject to the same scrutiny.

Surely there is an understanding that this is a given and a requirement for the business to operate? Hence why many larger organizations have made it a requirement.

NSW/VIC

NSW records 293 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.0204 (from 1.0124) while the actual line remains above the predictive trend line which is changed to a 4th order polynomial again.

VIC records 1,923 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.0128 (from 0.9910) while the actual line moves above the predictive trend which has been changed to a 4th order polynomial.

Reminds me of Rio Tinto and other big miners in WA, they come under that arrangement, trust, but female workers are being sexually assaulted on the job and after work after having a few cold beers, can't work on the trust system anymore, women have a right to work, and a right to have a few drinks after work without having to worry about the the walk home to their donga's!......

That is one of the biggest tangents I have seen in a while and full of other complexities.

But yes CV transmission would be rife in camps if unchecked.

In Vic at least, hospitality workers fall under the authorised worker category meaning vaccine mandates require those workers to be fully vaccinated by November 26.

Those workers need to have had at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose by now, with the deadline for that passing on October 22.

So, there will be no need to check each workers status, as their employer would have already had a legal obligation to do that.

Seems pretty logical, unless people want to stir the pot of course.

Service people should be the last to cop heat.

Hey I just had a bolt of brilliance

All double vaxers get "V2" tattooed on their forehead!

No tat no service.

And, and, and - each booster gets a star.

So "V2***" is a double vaxed person with 3 booster shots.

I tell youse blokes, I'm more than just a pretty face.

They won't just be copping it from anti-vaxxers. I want to know what powers they have to be able to ask me questions about my medical status. Will they show me their medical records if I ask to see them? I'd be told to bugger off. And i'm sure i'm not the only one who see's an issue with this, considering medical things are supposed to be private. I wouldn't be a ***** about it, but I will make sure the person asking to see my vaccination status knows that this is utter bull****, despite me being vaccinated.

The ridiculous thing is the government is forcing business's to do this, and leaving them to deal with the outcomes. A lot of these young hospitality workers will be left to cop the brunt of this, while the government staff who created this don't have to go within a mile of it. Slimy.

I wonder how long it will take before someone gets bashed over it? It's only going to take one nutter in a bad mood. Doesn't take much to trigger some people these days.

Slimy, or practical? What practical alternative would you suggest? It would be impossible to expect the authorities to staff these positions themselves. Even if they could employ enough people in a short enough time to be ready when business opens up, all of these people would have to be on the public payroll. Could you imagine the outcry when the inevitable tax increase would flow through to the tax payers!!

I agree that it is not an ideal position to have businesses 'police' this themselves, but I can't see any practical alternate.

Statistically, it’s fast becoming odds-on that customers are fully vaccinated in NSW. By last midnight, around 86,5 percent of 16+ adults. Makes checking this detail near redundant, easy to see why the state government put an end date on this.

Data valid as at 00:00 GMT October 27th 2021.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

1,840 new cases for Australia and 16 deaths so the CMR is 1.019%.

77 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 0.475%.

The UK had 43,453 cases yesterday and 263 deaths for a CMR of 1.579%.

82,062 new cases in the USA yesterday and 1,776 deaths sees CMR at 1.635%. Note that the CMR has started to rise again after falling steadily the last two months.

Other notable points:
Europe moves above the 90th percentile for case numbers;
Oceania passes 300k cases with 54.3% of those coming from Australia (along with 46.2% of the deaths);

Estonia (2,025) - the previous high on 11/03/2021;
Latvia (3,206); and
Singapore (5,324)

... recorded new highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

Finland and South Korea move above the 90th percentile for the 10 day period while no countries drop below.

I agree that it is not an ideal position to have businesses 'police' this themselves, but I can't see any practical alternate.
Your all falling for this Orwellian crap like lambs to the slaughter!
Ask yaself, If 2 years ago someone had suggested you’d get fined $1500 for not wearing a mask while walking your dog?… Or that you’d arrested in Albury for crossing the border from Wodonga?….
You’d all have said… “As if?… you’re crazy, this is Australia mate!”
Now look where we are… Governments with absolute supreme powers to control every facet of our lives…
It’s bloody insane how it’s been allowed to occur?… But sheep we are, sheep we’ll be!

Ask yourself if 2 years ago you thought there'd be a pandemic that impacted the entire world where there was no medication to be able to limit it's spread and impact?

Times change and we, as a human race, need to adapt to that change. Otherwise we'll go the way of the dinosaur or dodo.

And it's not permanent. It's plain to see already that the controls put in place are being wound back as the impacts are able to be controlled using other measures. Short term pain for long term gain, IMHO.

My daughter was watching the Victorian presentatin with no Dan, no Brett and No Jerone, this is what she messaged me:

No more Drs certificate to say you are exempt from covid vaccine. Drs now need to lodge a form to Australian immunisation register and they will decide if they don't need a vax. Even those that have a Drs certificate now have 2 weeks to lodge a form. Then the certificate to say they are exempt from covid Vax will be linked to my govts account like ours are.
