Pretty frustrating. We got it to continue working and maintain some freedoms, which are now available to all again suddenly, vaxxed or not.
You might want to double check that. Only thing that has changed, as far as I am aware, is "non essential retail".

But yes, I agree, very few checks being done. Last week, went to a couple of hospitality venues for our work christmas do, and no one checked me on entry. A few of my colleagues were checked though.

Don’t know about Vic,but in Tassie it isn’t the venues responsibililty to check people. The signs are there as are the QR codes and paper and pen.If Police or Workplace do a check, the person is booked, not the venue.I am pretty sure the venue operators don’t have a legal right to ask for evidence of vaccinations

That could help drive the conspiracy theorists. a) covid police going around asking people to "show papers". b) its already after the fact, the unvaxed that want to get in are already in and mingling - so whats the point?

NSW/VIC
NSW records a higher 2,501 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.1929 (from 1.2183) while the actual line remains well above the predictive trend line although it is just starting to ease.

VIC records 1,302 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.0151 (from 1.0080) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

Piece of cake, eh Cavinator?

Besides Zilo, has anyone else entered Tasmania recently? I’m a bit perplexed by the Tas e-Travel permit, I uploaded screenshots of my Covid test booking and it’s (overnight) result, but they seem inherently fallible forms of “proof”.

Your artistic skills are extremely realistic.
Anyhow, from a more serious note. Watching the news from nsw. And this is just my observational opinion, so not scientific. Relaxing the rules, great. But saying no masks in the majority of settings is premature. I think the greater population just got used to masks as much as nobody likes them. So our nsw cases are high, but my interpretation of news reports is because hospitalisation rates arent astronomical, she'll be right.
My personal opinion is people should keep a face nappy in their back pocket and in places with higher density as in shopping centres, supermarkets etc, i dont think people would hit the streets and protest that.
Yes im ranting, but i personally think things have gone too fast too soon.

I’ve been subjected to a number of increasingly paranoid-hostile messages this evening, respective to my business interstate tomorrow. People I’ve known for years, who have trusted my judgement and actions on costly matters.

This is quite sad; it’s another demonstration of how an illness (and its mitigation) was exploited to divide people.

It's sad to say, but perhaps you didn't know them as well as you thought. Or deep.down they were really weren't as they appeared. .

We have friends of over 40 years, they used to baby sit my sister and I as babies, who have ostracised my family in general because we simply got vaccinated. As they have to other mutual friends who has been vaccinated.

As you said it's a very decisive issue and had bought out the worst in a lot of us.

When you've known people that long and socialised with them regularly you get to know their personalities very well and there has most definitely been ups and downs over that time. But the only way you maintain a close relationship for that long is by accepting the differences, on both sides, warts and all.

Our friends have always taken a matriarchy approach to family rule. What mother says goes.

When they had organised to get their first shot they were actively pushing Dad to get his and criticising him when he didn't jump at their word. When mother and father got their first shot they pushed harder.

Then apparently the first AZ shot "almost killed her", as she described. All sorts of troubles and ailments about a week after the injection that lasted a month. Which was strange to me because I saw her personally 5 or 6 times for an hour or 2 each time and after our meeting she claimed all sorts of problems to others that weren't there when we were together.

Around about that time she jumped down the coivd conspiracy Facebook rabbit hole. And because what mother says goes, husband is the same, kids are the same, kids partners are the same and of course the cult that she leads.

As a group we always well know their beliefs flip flopped like the wind and mummy wore the pants and the strap on. It was always a source of amusement and fun in our social group.

But by god they have jumped off the deep end this time, seemingly never to return.

What's the saying??? Never a truer word than said in jest.

But yes, they have been dropped from the Christmas card list. If only because we don't know where they live anymore. Dont know their new address.

But regardless its sad to see a friendship of so long disappear like this. And ultimately it's their loss!

Got my third dose yesterday. With Xmas coming up, and the associated exodus out of Melbourne down this way (not that we don't have cases here already, just that I think it will get worse with so many Melbournites coming out of the city to enjoy a well-earned break), I figured it is the best thing I can do (sans social distancing, wearing of masks in high density location, washing of hands, etc) to protect me and my family whilst I also get to enjoy a few of the freedoms provided to us.

Using this website, and by filtering on 'Earliest Available' I was able to both book and get my jab all in the space of about 2 hours. Almost a 'walk in' arrangement.

Has anyone here in Vic had their third dose and know how to go about updating your certificate in the Services Vic app? I'm assuming I will need to delete my existing cert and upload a new one from either myGov or Medicare app? Tried searching for some detail on this, but couldn't find anything.

Third dose was Pfizer; the same as my first two doses. Only side effect so far is the localised soreness, which I also experienced with the other two doses.

NSW/VIC
NSW records a higher 3,059 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.2067 (from 1.1929) while the actual line remains well above the predictive trend line.

VIC records 1,245 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.0118 (from 1.0151) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

Overlay… (side by side up to the same week)

Week 23 in Victoria ended today with 129,823 cases to date compared to 20,155 at the same point of the 2020 outbreak and 76,245 for the NSW 2021 outbreak. Weekly case numbers see Victoria with just over 5.7x more cases than NSW in that week and overall case numbers for Victoria are up by 1,335 on last week. Note that we are comparing historical data for NSW with current data for Victoria as NSW is about 3.5 weeks ahead.

Mind you, if we continue that graph up to the current week for NSW, it looks like this:

I had my first Pfizer shot at a Government clinic, my second was at my GP's rooms, the nurse printed my double vaxxed certificate on the spot!
So if you had it done at your local GP's rooms then they are already connected to Medicare and Mygov on their computers, they should be able at the least to print out a hard copy for you!

So if you had it done at your local GP's rooms then they are already connected to Medicare and Mygov on their computers, they should be able at the least to print out a hard copy for you!
Thanks Chilly Beers. No hard copy was offered to me at the doctors clinic I got the third dose at. I also prefer to just carry it around in my phone rather than having a hard copy. (I'm hip and can use technology a little bit).

Most check-ins (where required) in Vic are done using the Service Vic app, including having a copy of your vacc certificate available for staff to eyeball. I've just gone through the process of uploading the new certificate from the myGov - Medicare app and the updated version is now in my service Vic app. So I'm all good to go again

I just had the booster jab this afternoon at my local pharmacy, I'm not worried about updating the digitital certificate on my phone as with most checkins they check to see if you have the actual certificate "nothing else matters if you had 2 or 3 jabs"
Cheers
