Having a real struggle at the moment with health, weather and other commitments keeping me from washing my cars lately. I did mention I bought a 10m extension for the karcher and that got used for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Wife's car had a massive bird poo splatter on it and although it was raining i had to get it off. The extension allowed me to wash the car on my drive rather than on my front lawn. My front yard is sloped and trying to drive a fwd (or rwd for that matter) car up the wet grass doesn't work too well.
Also when I say wash, it was a foam up with nv snow and pressure wash off. The wife needed to go out. It was better than nothing and the bird poo had to go. I bought some carpro reset, nv lustre and jet and some more cloths quite some time ago hoping to give my territory a bit of extra love and haven't had a chance to wash it for what feels like forever. Had an epidural steroid injection 3 weeks ago and that hasn't worked so I have to be a bit more careful for a while. Spinal injuries can be so infuriating. Patience isn't something I'm good at when it's stopping me doing things I enjoy. No. 1 is cycling. Washing cars isn't no. 2 but it's toward the top of the list. At least I can enjoy it through other people's experiences on here. Just venting again.

^^^^ Hope you're feeling better soon, Prydey. Back injuries can be so debilitating.

Two items I have been waiting a few months for will be arriving very soon, the new The Detail Factory brushes. Both of these were released a few months ago in the USA and have only now reached Australia with Detailing Shed offering these as a pre-order. Both are now in stock.
The first is their new tyre cleaning brush - https://detailingshed.com.au/product...e9a53c0e&_ss=r The second being the Curveball brush - https://detailingshed.com.au/product...6475726b&_ss=r The Curveball is exceedingly expensive at $79.95, especially when these retail for $29.95 in the US. Likewise the $39.95 tyre brush which sells for $14.95 in USD. But I just had to have them, you know how it is by now. The tyre brush interests me most, this will join my very well used Maxshine brush, which is a Tuff Shine knock off. For $13.95, those brushes are brilliant for what they are, they don't look fancy but just work! Suitable for high and low profile tyres. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...e9a53c0e&_ss=r Pictured here brand new alongside the useless Gyeon Tire Cleaner, one of the few products I have never re-ordered. It has cleaned countless tyres since. The Detail Factory one features longer and slightly softer bristles, supposedly better for deep cleaning, it also has a rubberized handle for extra comfort. The big question though is will the new $39.95 Detail Factory version out-perform the $13.95 Maxshine?

This is a perfect illustration of why brand-new cars can benefit from polishing.
This is a brand-new Ferrari worth $410,000 plus on-roads, and yet even it's paint is imperfect from the factory.

I wonder why they have this on clearance? I note it's sold out on the Bowdens website also. An updated formulation coming?

Yes I was going to say that about Repco.
I got a bottle of Turtle Wax One & Done for under $30 on Clearance to try. Here is the secret to finding the bargains but it is a little tedious. Go to their site and search for a product brand example Meguairs, and bring up their line up. If any are on special example 25% off they will be listed 1st. But the key is to go to the last pages to see the clearance items. Set your store to see if any are in stock at your local store. If not you can also check the surrounding ones. It is a little tedious as often they are sold out at the nearest stores but you never know. When I went into the store the product was still on the shelf at the full price so I got it checked at the register and bingo clearance price.

The latest video from Car Craft features the Ruby Red Mustang he corrected and coated a year ago, where he touches up a few areas that needed attention.
What I think this illustrates is that a ceramic coating is not a set-and-forget solution, they need to be maintained to see their full potential.

Damn...you guys. So the turtle rubbing compound and fast orange didn't work with the scratches. Keen to try Ceriglass as it contains cerium oxide.
The glass polishing pad they have on waxit is 130mm. My DA polisher is 125mm. Can I still make it work?

Just keep in mind removing scratches from glass is very, very difficult, even with CeriGlass and the glass pad. Polishing glass is best seen as "deep cleaning", as in you are improving the clarity of it rather than removing scratches.

If that's your waxit order that's seriously quick. Great service.

Hey DFB,
I bought some CarPro Ech2o a while back and mixed some up this morning to use as a waterless wash. Spray on, wipe off. I went by the mixing ratio on the bottle of 1:10. I wasn't overly impressed with its performance. Maybe my expectations were a bit high?? I'm sure you have used this product at varying dilutions. Any advice? I'm using it on my caravan. It's not that dirty. Just been rained on recently so thought I'd test out the product. Thinking maybe I could increase the dilution to 1:5?? On a slight tangent my van could do with a light polish to remove some water marks etc that seem to have dried in to the surface. Is there a product or there that is good value and really easy to work with? My last experience with polishing etc was applying some kind of paste and then letting it dry to a haze and then giving myself popeye arms buffing it all off...

What issue did you experience with it, and how did you use it? Water-less, as in spray and wipe. Or Rinse-less, as in soaking towels in a mixed-up solution? Both water-less and rinse-less can take a bit to get used to due the no suds factory and it can feel wrong until you settle with the fact these products encapsulate dirt safely rather than being washed away with soap and water. Waxit recommend the following dilution ratios for ECH20 - 500ml makes up to 2 Gallons of (1:15) Waterless Spray 500ml makes up to 3 1/4 Gallons of Quick Detailer (1:25) 500ml makes up to 5 1/4 Gallons of Clay Lubricant (1:40) 500ml makes up to 26 1/2 Gallons of Rinse-less Wash (1:200) If you struggle with calculating dilutions, check out this really great website - https://www.omnicalculator.com/every...dilution-ratio I would suggest trying it at 1:15, although I have advised mixing it at 1:25 will reduce streaking. As for polishing a caravan, what is the material we are talking about...........sorry, I don't do caravans ................metal, fiberglass..........

Van is painted fibreglass. Gloss finish. Has stick on decals so something that is harmless to stickers would be good.
As for the Ech2o, I thought it would have slightly more cutting power. I think of waterless wash as being a step or 2 up from quick detail. QD to me is basically cleaning a dusty vehicle. Waterless wash in my mind can clean a slightly dirty vehicle.

As for polishing a fiberglass caravan, from what I can gather, you treat this a marine application. Meguiar's offer a couple of options - High Gloss Polish - "A perfect all-in one polish for the treatment and care of fibreglass vehicles such as boats, caravans and RVs Safe to use on all painted fibreglass" https://www.sparesbox.com.au/part/me...sh-473ml-m4516 One Step Cleaner Wax - "Cleans, polishes and protects all fiberglass gel coat marine or RV surfaces" https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-...73ML/p/CC00531 As does Waxit with selected Collinite products - 870 Fleetwax - "single step formula removes film, light oxidation/discoloration and stains from fiberglass surfaces while leaving behind a radiant, high gloss finish and durable protective coating" https://www.waxit.com.au/products/co...d8c96d07&_ss=r 920 Cleaner - "cuts fast and finishes smooth-removing film, mild-moderate UV oxidation/chalkiness, discoloration, and tough stains from fiberglass. Easy-to-use compound restores original color and gloss" https://www.waxit.com.au/products/co...d8c96d07&_ss=r Hope that helps.

Hi Guys,
Apologies it's not a Ford. We've had this C300 since January, it was a 7 month old demonstrator. We weren't too happy with the appearance and I've recently had time to do a detail on it. The last photo shows the products I used. [/IMG]MG][/IMG] [I[IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] I think these have come out as thumbnails. I was very happy with the Scholl's - came up nice, slick and shiny.

So after some advice in here from DFB, and my detailer.
I purchased a kit from waxit.com So a few weeks ago i used the NV snow on my mums Rukus. A car that hasnt had a heap of love but lives indoors. Absolutely came up brilliant. Missus purchased a 2022 Tuscan that had some dealer applied paint protection (wasnt actually too bad tbh) so easy to wash. Came up like brand new. So today i washed my ute, for the first time since it had paint correction (details in posts a few pages ago) Using the NV product to snow foam and wash, it was so bloody easy. Water just falls off it. In fairness it hasnt driven much but so easy to clean. No pics of any (i do but to lazy to upload) But again thanks to DFB and my detailer very happy with what ive purchased thus far. But i can see this as the beginning of an empty wallet
