The first one pictured (the cabriolet) was originally owned by a famous post war Holleywood director.

Not a Delahaye. Another clue; when sold in the UK they were often sold under another name.

Correct and correct; your turn DJR.

I think the Talbot-Lago T26 (Teardrop) Figoni et Falaschi 4-Seat Cabriolet is one of the most elegant cars ever made.

Both T26's

Talbot-Lago in France
Darrag in UK.

Perhaps I was mislead but these sites show it and a similar red car as a Saoutchik bodied Talbot Lago T26 GS (Crand Sports)

Given the coachbuilder was a 3rd party it is feasible that near identical bodies were out on both chassis with some resultant confusion.

First look at this thread tonight 60 pages!!! Error on first page, post #27 photo and #28 answer, it is not an FB Holden as presumably given correct, its an EK Holden.

The FB had a different side chrome strip configuration with the contrasting colour filling in these strips along the side including the fin, the roof being the same colour as the main body colour. The EK (same shape) had the roof in the contrasting colour, usually white, like in the photo.

My first car was an FB about 35 years ago, I also had an EK parts car which I took the electric wipers from, as the FB had vacuum wipers!!
