We worked on the car ALL week every day from 8-5 and from 5am til 8PM Friday to try to sort the vibration. Arrived at the track Saturday morning with no idea if it would be OK. Car is unbelievably good. Fast and reliable. A bit too fast maybe. Broke the longstanding Porsche Cup GT3 Lap Record after only 10 laps on the track - the photo lifting wheels was taken after only 5 laps flat out. Car will be used to support the Starlight Foundation and Camp Quality so you might see it at various Hospitals etc. On Thursday 20th Jan it will be at Parramatta Stadium for Camp Quality. Come say hi. Last edited by Walt Kowalski; 19-04-2017 at 09:02 AM. |

Awesome Walt, looks good in the pics, I like the similarity between the 7 and Lightning McQueen, very clever.
Good job on the build and getting it to the point of beating Porsche Cup records as thats no mean feat, car would have to be fast, very fast. And last but by no means least, good on you for supporting Starlight and Camp Quality, 2 very worthwhile foundations to support, rep points to you. If you are ever in Adelaide let me know and I will come say Hi.

Really fits in with Camp Qualitys theme of giving the kids some joy Here is another pic. If you know FD's you will notice that I have made many little "adjustments" to its shape but using colour Mallala is a long way for us but there is a remote possibility I might come over. A mate is starting a Ferrari day trip business and he wants me to come have a drive. LOL Last edited by Walt Kowalski; 19-04-2017 at 09:02 AM. |

Yes I can notice some subtle differences, must say I love the LIGHTYEAR on the tyres too. The 7 looks great Walt.

Ric Shaw corner weighted it this week and it came in 4.5kgs lighter than old rotary setup. He was very surprised. Extras not on rotary setup which made it heavier: Cage extended thru to strut towers and some extra bars internally Much bigger battery Much bigger brakes F & R 18" x 10.5" rims (Vs 17" x 9") Bigger tyres Much heavier winged Racetech seat AIR CONDITIONING with a monster system Dry sump incl big heavy pump and 10 litre reservoir Diff cooler and extra 2 litres diff oil Steel shockies instead of the old alloy ones But we now save weight by having lexan instead of glass, no power steering, Racepak dash instead of guages. Taking it to Wakefield on friday to have some more fun. It's a BUZZZZ to drive. Definitely a boy. When I asked a good mate "is it male or female?" he immediately joked "Its @*()<^%3 brutus!" Come out say hello. Pit garage 31. Will be trying to beat Natsoft PB of 1.02.68. |

Its on TV this sunday at 12.30 on SBS. Order the pizza and book your mates to see the red MazdaRX-7 V8 in MONSOON conditions with the awesome Sonny Duran 6 litre V8. This photo is at over 200 KPH and the battle raged for manylaps. Look carefully and you will see the front wheels are crossedup. Possibly repeated later on "Inside Speed" on SPEEDand SPEED HD channel. THANK YOU EVERYUONE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THIS THREAD, The car is awesome. Steve |
