I have the exact same combo on my eb bottom end with a standard e series tune 55mm maf and t/b. It runs very well.
It will run lean if you use a bigger t/b and maf.
It is on the limit for the standard eb tune though because ive had mine on the dyno and its around 13/1 afr although ive never had it ping on me using 98 octane.
The guy who dynoed my car told me it will be fine for everyday driving and the odd blast down the drags but refrain from doing burnouts.
Almost 30000km down the track ive had no issues and ive been to the drage 3 or 4 times.

I pulled the 200kw engine down out of my AUII XR8 ute tonight to carry out a freshen up.
I got the dial indicator and magnetic stand out and measured the Yella Terra rockers that were fitted to it, and can confirm that they were also 1.7:1 ratio.

ultra intresting info there, chuck a dial gauge on the crane rockers and confirm ratio.

In saying that the crane ones where made specific for Ford, so maybe thats why there the 1.6's and not avliable in the crane catalogue...

These are the only Crane/Ford Racing ones we can see, and they are 1.7's.

guess will need to confirm the rocker arms from a 200 engine, cant rememeber if there was a part number off the rocker fitted to the falcon or is that the number that is on there?

Was looking at a set of them just the other day too lol.

Hi there people, been a while since I was on here...
Have a question, I have a 11/01 build AUII XR8 ute,, I have had valve train noise for ages... Long story short, i pulled the rocker covers off today and found a broken valve spring... Howver the suprising part is that It has Yella Terra Roller rockers and double valve springs. Does this mean it is a 220kwe long motor? OR are all 200kw valve springs double and i just lucked out with some 220kw rockers? Heads are cast iron. Basically with the engine open how can I tell which long motor it is? Throttle body has no wings and there is no oil cooler... Need to know because i want to order a spring thru Ford..Thanks fellas

The above mentioned 'pages of *********' would actually answer your question if you bothered to look.
The VIN number will not necessarily identify a 220 engine - you need to check a few things on the engine to know for sure.

But you know what - read the above mentioned 'pages' and find the answer yourself.

Were xr v8 engine numbers different to none xr?

Just trying to work out if my lane has had a xr motor or something done to it.

Doesn't have any of the external clues, like the ticky tb or anything like that, but it just seems to go really well for what should be quite a 'sedate' big old car.

Engine number should match VIN number. If they don't, motor has been swapped out at some stage.

Yes, it's a 175kw motor. May have a little bit more power with the mods, but all Fairmont Ghia's had the 175 motor

Not as odd as you might think, I've had 2 XR utes like that now, both were series III and NOT 220's!

I was wondering if anyone has an an AUII Windsor V8 engine bay diagram of what's what? So I can locate all the components and know what they are before I remove an engine and put it into another engine bay. Thank you...

Austin - as a moderator, can't you go back and edit your original post? I think it's worth doing because anyone that reads it will go, "Oh, OK, so that's the story", only to read further down and find all the corrections, which then makes people question the correctness of any info posted in a "one stop Q & A" type thread. I'd correct it with the right info, delete the below corrections, then close it so it's a one post thread (oh, and sticky it)!
Hi JC
i was just looking at this old thread, I just got a 11/01 xr8 ute, thimking it had the spacer it was a 185kw, but reading this it coild be a 200kw. I havent called ford yet, but is it possiable it is 200kw

Thanks
