Now, every one list from the last 6 pages, which of these fads they've done to their cars.

I know I've had many a surf brand sticker on my cars, from the first, the 2nd.. even a jetpilot sticker at one stage. Current theres a black Independent Trucks Co. Sticker, that hides itself in the tint. Red brakes on my 2nd car, Altezzas on the current AU.

i know this one isnt a fad you DO to your car, but more something the driver does while driving. loudish exhaust, drive in popular areas in low gear revving and not changing out of first. lots of people look at you as you drive by and not because your cool. i just hate that.

i have an XT with white writing on the tyres and fluffy dice.....will never get rid of either

but for some reason when i was 18, i mounted a monster tacho up on the corner of the dash for the world to see. i thought it was so cool, until one day i looked at the car and thought it was the worst thing i had ever done....i still to this day have a little hole in the pillar reminding me of my foolishness

i HATE spinning hubcaps!!!

Its not so much a fad, but I simply question why. Spend a whole thousand dollars on the car itself, a complete piece of really, then bang on wheels worth more than the car. Followed by a stereo worth more than the car and the wheels together. Combine all that wasted money together, and you'd atleast have enough to pick up a decent late 1990s Falcon or Commodore.

Like other folks here, the good old steel stockies on the back with the 19" bling rims up front just irritates the hell out of me. I have never seen more juicy cop bait in my life!!

Another fad I always hated, which now seems to have disappeared in the last few years, are body coloured skins on headlights to give the twin headlight or beady eyes effect. Ricers loved them and also occasionaly saw them on Falcons and Commo's. If I were a cop I'd put those straight off the road!!

What are wiper weights? I remember the black three finned wind deflectors that used to clip onto the wiper that you could get from K-mart in the early 80's for $2.99 though!

those 3 finned wiper wind deflectors had serious street cred back then. im sure there was a label on packaging stating that they were developed in a NASA wind tunnel...

Ha Ha I think your right! Funny thing was you would see em everywhere including mature drivers as well so it was not just confined to the younger generation only. Oldies would put them on with their Aunger headlight protectors and their "fluro light" style front bumpers as well. They used to advertise the front bumper on tv by lining up an empty 44 gallon drum and bouncing it off at around 5-10 kph.

AXS Car seat covers.. hell, I've got two pairs of the expensive stupid things....
Those long key ring type things. Basically a 30cm long, thin piece of fabric hanging off your keys. Every had one at some stage. I guess for, you know hanging them around your neck.
Pod filters / Air Pods... " instant 20kw, yo! "
17" ROH Fury wheels.

I remember seeing 2 sets of those finned wiper thingies on each wiper, double the downforce I assume!!

Even Chris Christou has them on his GT Burnout Machine.

What about nose down bum up look? Not the best idea around.

Mini-Trucks.

I'm all for " Mini Trucks " I remember seeing some very neat Hiluxs and duel cab things getting around back when I was in high school.. very clean, neat, tint, a nice simple set of wheels.. very american pick-up... but really, air-bags, 20"s flashy paint and skateboard ramps and spa baths in the rear..

As far as modern car manufacturers go - putting dual exhausts on all their standard cars to give them that 'sporty' look, even though most of them run inline 4 cylinders - Mazda 3 & 6, Accord Euro, Liberty etc

Fitting HID kits and fake vents to a bog stock Toyota Echo, Civic etc...If you don't believe me go to Sunnybank after dark :-)

Running massive car manufacturer stickers across the top of your front or rear windscreens just in case you forget what brand of car you are driving hehe.

Kenwood stickers: Late 80's/Early 90s. You weren't hot unless your ride was sporting a Kenwood sticker.

12 slotter/Hotwires/Kidney Beans on EVERYTHING.

The decals you could get that had the name of your car
(I.E: FALCON, COMMODORE, CELICA etc) and went along the bottom of the doors.

Random graphics stickers. Random graphic design that you could stick onto your car.
Very popular on Lasers, Barinas, Vitaras in the early 90's.

GTR XU-1 replicas built from 4 doors.

Holden One-tonner tow trucks.

B&M Megashifters (so popular they brought out a RHD version)

Tunnel rams, very popular in the 80's

Light up license plate surrounds.

Redback gearknobs.

Snap-On seat covers

The Playboy fad: Playboy seatcovers and bunny stickers.
