i don't think they look 'ricey' or anything like that. i think they would only suit white or silver coloured cars though. would suit darker cars if they were tinted slightly.
as for the ADR compliance, definitly something to keep in mind. they'll stand out like dogs balls to any cops sitting behind you.

if its a concern you could always stick a couple of small red reflectors somewhere . either inside the light or beside ect ect , there is no rule that says the reflector has to be inside the taillamps.
these are like almost every other mod done to a car , a cam , a throttle body , bigger tyres, mudflaps , cut parcel shelfs , fiberglass bonnets , ect ect ,they may make our cars fail adr's but we all do it!!!!
Has anyone crash tested a EF with a BA bumper on it??? does the airbag deploy within the window that is specified by ford?? HMMM does this meet adr.s???

nothing personal EFfalcon just used your car as an example

just depends how obvious such things are.
you get defected for problems with lights, bulbs blown, obstructed lighting, tinted lights etc. The reflectors are on this list, Yes you can put reflectors somewhere else and it will overcome the problem, i was simply making people aware that it LEGALLY needs to be considered if you're fitting these lights.

as for my kit, considering the kit mounts to the exactly like the factory one does, and essentially is just different plastic, i'd be very inclined to say the kit would still meet ADR's, how ever its something i've done at my own risk, i'm not selling them to people 'neglecting to mention' legalities.

not at all, IMO they're a lot better then the commodore ones.
not anything like what i was expecting, will be interesting to see how they come up on some more modified cars.
would be a good set of lights to modify too

As far as aftermarket tail lights go, these don't look bad. On the right coloured car they would suit it well.
However the reflector is still an issue even if you add a couple of red reflectors to the rear of your car. There will still be two clear/white reflectors facing rearward and all rear reflectors need to be red.

reflectors have to be red when being lit up by a light source not connected to the car.

The low spec VX Commodore range is an example of a model with bumper-mounted reflectors. Still, I wouldn't do it unless a cop made me.

Also bear in mind that most coloured globes would be visible inside the housing (what's known as the egg yolk). Chrome-coated coloured bulbs are available, or better yet LED towers.

Don't know if this applies to reflectors.

6.10.2 White Light
There must be no white light directly visable to an observer in Zone 2 which is to the rear of the vehicle and shown in Figures 6.2 and 6.2

ohhh crap...I like them, but this legal BS and the fact that I dont know if they would suit my dark car is swading me not to. Gonna have to think about this one.

Would look good like the complete clear front, sides and rear I think....185 is not a bad price either.

edit: also the chromeyness of it would suit the rear garnish of an EL Ghia I think...who else is getting a set? Id like to see more pics I think....

The price is IMO very good, $185 for a brand new set of tail lights that will set your car apart is very reasonable.
2nd hand standard lights still fetch about $100

I think a lot of people are taking this too far. John isn't bagging the lights, he's just advising us of a potential problem that would cause hassle with the boys in blue. Time to enhance our calm everyone.

ok just spoke to our supplier and these DO NOT meet current ADR's !!!!!!!

we have cancelled all of our order with the supplier as we dont want people getting fined for a product weve sold ,
we will fullfil the orders we allready have , or offer a full refund , its your choice but BE WARNED that they DO NOT meet ADR's, as far as i can tell if you stick a red reflector on either side they are then OK but im not going to guarantee them , it is purely your decision

if you have any questions please contact me.
