As far as any govenment is concerned, U all have share's (within your super) with these big oil company's.
Guess what, by them increasing the price of fuel/gas, u get more dividends which means more coin when you want the cash.
What sh_t's me is all the govenment subsidies to major business while the small get shafted.

One thing that had me perplexed until today about the LPG price increases was that I was just not seeing it on any charts of fuels. While Brent Crude and WTI were trending higher, the Natural Gas charts stayed at multi year lows. I asked if LPG could be based on propane, or butane charts but was informed these were rolled into the NG spot a short while back.

This morning I found a chart that explains the difference: LPG and 'wet' gases are priced very differently to 'dry' natural gas on the market.

I wonder if the above as traditionally LPG was a bonus production from oil based fuels. Given the large majority in Australia is refined from our natural gas, there's so crazy profits to be had. He'll yeah were the lucky country....... I certainly feel lucky everytime filling up now.

On the arguments of 'world/open' market BS, I wonder why they would bother selling any of the natural gas locally as natural gas if they have the oportunity (given there is demand) to sell it as LPG? Government might do something then if no one could get gas to their houses for a reasonable price.

A good percentage of our gas comes out of the ground as ready to run LPG without needing refining, unlike the US where it all has to be refined.

No offence, but Im pretty sure LPG is solely a by product of refining. Vehicles that run on LNG (pretty much straight out of the ground) have vastly different fuel systems including tanks that need to contain pressures way higher than an LPG tank.

No problems. I read a government report on the web about it last week. Will try and find it again. They said that we do have LPG sources that require no refining.

not quiye true.
propane/butane gas is mixed with natural gas and has to be "seperated" .
due to condesation that will rust underground pipes.

so refining does take place.

Woolworths Caltex Enoggera has LPG for 79.9. Most other places Brissi northside are 86.9-89.9.

I had a 24c voucher, and also filled my petrol tank plus fuel containers with premium, making sure I took advantage of the full 150L limit.
