We'd just be a group of people who happen to park in the same car park and drive the same car in the same rural town though... call it coincidence :P. Each of us SHOULD have car insurance which should cover any damage caused by your car to any one/thing?

B Series is not an official or incorporated club, so unless we use the guise of something else I don't see that working :S

Ill ask my old man about public liability, he was a carpenter and he has also held 3x motorbike shows on both couincil land and private property.

Or the other thing we could do is something simmilar to the Thunder rally (motorbike stuff) and on entry pay a small fee to enter your car in the park and have a small awards ceremony for things like furthest traveled and oldest combination (car and owner) just so that people dont think that they are paying for nothing!

What if we find a local shop to sponser us so it becomes B Series as presented By .......
That was we can use them for the insurance?
Deposits will be difficult though.

OK, ive talked to a couple of very informative people and found this:

No insurance company will look at insuring us without the club being official, this means that we have to go all out which doesnt seem too hard or expencive just time consuming.

1st thing we need to do is contact another organisation to ask questions on how they did there's. There are a fiew other car clubs found here on this forum that have done this and know the process so we need to do a bit of investigation on how too and cost.

2nd We need to get a registered bussiness name (i think in vic this is only around $130 not sure bout nsw) and ABN, this means we will need to set up a bank account and maybe ask for donations, sponsorship or member fees.

After this get quotes on insurance.

This is starting to get more complicated. The idea of the formation of the club was to keep it unofficial. Our club is based upon the AUFALCON club model, just a group of like-minded individuals sharing their passion for their B-series cars. That way we avoid the politics and dramas that other clubs have experienced.

There is more to it than just registering a business name, committees would need to be formed in each state, elections held, membership charged, meetings, running costs etc.

If we have to go down this path, I have thought for a while about perhaps making the club a not for profit charitable organisation. We could raise money for charities and stop any fights over money divided between states.

Daniel, we all appreciate the effort you have gone through to get our all-states meet together, I for one would be disappointed to see it fall through.

The way I see it is we either we become an official entity or we scale down the activities to things we can get away with without insurance. Unless you can find a business in Parkes that would allow us to hold our event under their insurance?

Supercheap and Repco are known to hold car club events in their carpark, in which case it would be on private property. Perhaps trying them if they are in parks??

If we Incorporate the club we'll need rules, constitutions, leaders, donations, etc. etc. it would just ruin the whole idea the club was set up with.

I think this sounds like the better option, i wonder if the local couincil will foot the insurance and let us do it at the showground if it was in aid of something i.e. charity

Apparently Forbes (34 kms south of Parkes) would apparently JUMP at the thought of an event such as this...if people are interested, we can look at this. The cruise from Parkes to forbes is pretty good as well... just a 24 min trip @ 110km/hr.
Organise for the cruise to go through Parkes on Sunday morning, arrive at Forbes Sunday morning 9:30ish and then setup and open to public between 9:30 and 10am??

sound like a plausible Option? I also haven't looked at Parkes' showgrounds as I thought It might have been too far out of the way?

let me know guys...

You're the local mate, whatever you think is best probably is.
If we're travelling a few 100kms as it is I don't see what another 34km is to anyone.
Plus, it will give us a chance for mass B Series on freeway pics.

At this moment anywhere that will have us will be good.

IF this ends up going ahead, one of the places we looked at accommodation for has camping site's and a few of us were going to just do that. As for the show I dont see why the trailer isnt welcome, Its still a B Series isnt it? :P

yeah exactly, i reckon a convoy full of cars from each state will be just as much fun as the actual event. I'll tag along on the route from adelaide.

Silly suggestion but if Forbes wants to hold it shouldn't we stay there (if traveling a fair distance). They're doing something good for us shouldn't we put money into the town?

I have a brother in Broken Hill and just recently discovered a mate has moved to Bathurst...would be nice to catch up with everyone in one trip.
