I HEAR TOYOTA PRIUS is bringing out a new steam engine powered buy the sun with superheated steam . it is rumoured to be producing 237 kw's with 388nm of torque . not bad for a 977kg car . hsv need to be up to it for this one.

seems a pretty significant update to me, more so mechanical than anything.

The XR6T and XR8 i drove really did feel like they performed allot better with the 6 speeder in there, great box!

Need to find FPV details.....

I doubt it would be less than the info released. If anything maybe more than original info and no one would complain about that lol

the base inline 6 engine is getting a boost to 190kw with 6% better feul efficiency
turbo 6 bumps up to 245kw and the 5.4v8 goes to 230kw.

good effort there ford with concentrating on the fuel.

looks like theyl be selling heaps better.

Barra245T 245kw and 480nm
Barra190 190kw and 383nm
Barra230 230kw and 500nm

New 6-speed optional in XR6/XR8 for $1500-$2000
Standard Version 450nm, XR version 600nm.

Transparent redline, auto can shift as much as 250rpm above the 6000rpm redline on WOT.

Dual VCT now active, idle speed now 550rpm, cruise speend 100kmh engine speed 1500rpm, SY Territory 1800rpm.

What about the XR8? The new front bar is shaped like the FPV bar, might have ot get me one of these. Upside down trapezoid.

Please don't tell me the XR's 6-speed auto can only handle 600Nm of torque? That's less then the T56... and the ZF is supposed to be rated to 775Nm. Do we get a ponce cheapo one or something?

To my untrained eye, it *looks* like a BA MkIII ... no significant difference to previous model. A bit like what Holden does to differenciate Exec, Berlina, Calais, etc .. change bumpers, lights and trim. I hope the tech improvements are enough to drag it across the finish line?

I hope this is not a repost.

Check page 8 of the Melbourne Herald Sun.

What happened to BB, BC, BD and BE?

Because 18s are standard on the XR8 and that isn't changing.

That should handle over 300rwkw without modifying it at all. Whats the problem? Any more power/Torque and the gearbox won't be your best friend anyway, you'll swap it out for a 3-speed or similar. It will handle enough troque to get most owners across the line in high 10-low 11sec bracket without modification.
