so xl and xls is odd looking, the rest a great, ranger sport seems to be a sweet spot.

The Bronco reveal was “on point”, and just brilliant. The voice and point on point about Bronco’s strengths.

This one was just “fluffy” and trying to use mobile tech, in the presentation, that a lot of customers don’t use.

Quite like it, some actual powertrain information would have been nice rather than we have a camera strapped to our head enjoy the ride type perspective.

Being a bit picky but not sure why you would replace the FX4 branding with a generic Sport when you’ve been building successful branding around it over the past couple of model cycles.

Once we get some proper specs on these things hopefully I’ll be able to land a V6 XLT, I’d rather aftermarket leather and I’ll grab some aftermarket 18’s if that’s the primary difference with the sport model.

It looks more high tech than ever. The new infotainment system rivals my 2021 Subaru Outback Sport thats for sure. Will be waiting for the reviews on this in the upcoming months.

Next-Generation Ford Ranger Towing Capability

Customers wanted a choice of more power and torque for towing heavy loads and extreme off-roading, so the team added Ford’s proven 3.0-Litre turbodiesel V6 and developed it for the Ranger. It is one of three turbodiesel engine options available at launch, depending on market3.

“The 3.0-Litre turbodiesel V6 delivers,” says Pritika Maharaj, Ranger program manager. “When you drive a Ranger with the V6 turbodiesel, it feels like a much bigger truck. And it feels really tough in the sense that it's got endless power and torque, which is exactly what our customers wanted.”

The Next-Generation Ranger will also come with a choice of proven Single-Turbo and the Bi-Turbo 2.0-Litre inline four-cylinder diesels. The Single Turbo delivers power, torque and fuel economy, which is important to small business owners and commercial vehicle fleets. The Bi-Turbo engine is a more sophisticated, performance variant for customers who want more power but need to maintain fuel economy.

“We know our customers push their Rangers to the extreme, so that’s how we test them. We go the extra mile to make sure Ranger will do everything our customers want, over and over again,” Maharaj said.

Transmission choices include an updated 10-speed auto complementing the current six-speed automatic.

It's clear they've put in a lot of work designing it but I don't think I'm feeling it, especially with the massive screen in the middle of the dash. I'm sure it still appeals to lots and will be very popular.

It’s called Luxe Yellow, appears to be a Wildtrak only colour.

It’s a drip feed release. Other models will come further down the line. Sport is an addition, not a replacement.

Fair enough Boss, I wouldn’t have thought there would be enough room for a Sport and an FX4, will be interesting to see what they have in mind.

Any talk as to how far away the next round of information is away?

Looking on the Ford Website I’ll be interested to see the Orange in the flesh, nice to see them launch with some more interesting colours.

Looks good but doesn’t look as tough as I thought it would.
Great to see a proper engine in it but a shame it looks like leaf springs on everything but the Raptor. My wife hated the way my PX Ranger rode. They say it is a more comfortable ride which is good at least.
Good to see permanent 4wd on some models.

They say it is an upgraded power stroke engine. Let’s hope they get 200kws and 650nm out of it
It’s on my list of possible next vehicles at this point.

Love the exterior design, big improvement on PXIII. I’m not as sold on the interior- the dash in particular. There’s just nothing much to it, a bit plain. Hopefully it grows on me.

It’s the marquee vehicle of the lineup and not even a glimpse of it.

Looks like towbar is better tucked under the back end, either that or the bumper is covering it better.

Fords done a great job on this. Love the big ticket items like V6 Engine, Full time 4WD and new modern interior with large display.

But Some of the smaller items are also just key for it going forward.

• Air vents for rear passengers ( for many the omission is show stopper for families)
• Space for a dual battery under the bonnet like the current Hiulx. 4WD’ers love this
• Rear discs great for 4wd’s that regularly get the rear drum brakes wet and submerged.

Some things waiting to hear about.

• Largest tyre that can be fitted under the new guards. IE 33’s?
• Size of fuel tank
• GCM/ GVM

I just watched the release video again, but this time I tried it on a VR headset (Oculus Rift).
The video made sense this way, and was much more interactive.

It was a much better experience this way, with only the dogs thinking I looked like a dork.

Why do i get the feeling the V6 won't be offered in manual form :( Ok ok i know it's not the bread and butter these days, but it's nice to have choice. Not sure offered in the F150 with MT so probably that horse had already bolted. 600 speculative Nm with a manual trans sheesh!!!! But if they've got the 10 speed right not a showstopper I guess. I'm just a hanger on'er for a clutch.

Think i need a Sport V6. Be interested to check out the option wheels before thinking aftermarket. One helluva good looking ute.
