I looked at the focus and went wtf??? I can get an XR6 ecolpi with leather seats tow bar and bucket loads of space and its cheaper for me to run.

Family are members are trending taller and wider so to go anywhere in comfort we would have needed to take 2 cars, double fuel bill ,double emissions.

My XR is so much better to drive than my old focus. I feel so much better at both end of the trip to work ..there is no comparison really.
What I regret is buying the falcon thinking I was helping AU jobs when clearly it seems I am mistaken.

I got a great car and I love it but just because I brought one doesn't mean anyone else will.

No advertising and production put on hold....

I got to go to the media launch which was brilliant but I don't get what Ford is up too.
They said there would be a dealer launch....what get some ecoboost falcons delivered to dealers and that's it? It should be an event like the AU launch because Ford has done something great with the falcon ecoboost and people need to know about it.

I have said all along - Ford needs to move the Falcon to the premium end of the market with diesel and return of XR8. Fleets have moved on to Cruze/Corolla for 20 grand on road - they are not coming back.

Ironically the V8 has become more important than ever to ensure local survival - although most on here would disagree vehemontly at that idea. Whether you like it or not people see small cars and SUVS as the sensible family or fleet choice. The market has shifted, buying a large sedan is seen as buying a luxurious or performance vehicle, its about bloody time Ford started treating the Falcon like one.
Brazen, I couldn't agree with you more except the engine type.

If I had ultimate say this is what I would do. Stop pitching the falcon at families as that war is being won by soft roaders diguised as SUV/4WD's, go for broke with build quality, comfort and power, but in the subtle way that demonstrates class, class and more class. Jack the price up to lose the perception of cheap. Say set the start price around what a GT is currently going for and most of all, set the base model with what is in a G6E with all the different engine types. Then let people pick from a huge menu of add ons, not just upgrades either, have alternatives. Install emergency satnav in every car so when a driver is in distress, they hit a button and help will be on its way. Kind of like an epirb and the SES but a ford rep comes to your aid. Have digital TV and internet access. For FPV, firstly everything comes in left and right hand drive. In addition to GT and F6 road cars do what porsche does with the GT3 and sell cars that are production race ready with Cams approved cages and log books, body kits. Set up a national competition not disimilar to targa. Could you imagine how many guys would love to get their hands on a light weight supercar for under $200k. You could have two sorts, the Targa version and the full track hero. The ideas are endless to make these cars top shelf. Imaging a Falcon winning Lemans? Ya gotta spend it to make it.

Yeah I know, and pigs will fly. Can't blame a guy for dreaming

I also don't understand why ford don't lobby for the falcon six to be more fairly rated when registering.I mean compare the falcon six rego to say any diesel turbo four 4x4 lots have far more torque and are far more capable of doing damage to environment roads etc and yet they pay less rego,in QLD at least anyway.

WAForce8 great ideas.
There is hell of a lot of talent In These forums alone...

Fords not doing any adds so why don't we?

We probably won't get one on the telly other than a foot note to the story about fans trying to save the falcon. But there is YouTube and other video sites and we can show our family and friends.

I played for about half an hour with iMovie on my iPad and made a quick movie of a drive down the youyangs and again at the apple store in Chadstone for about 10 mins on a Mac, made a short movie with a sound track in HD and I have zero talent ...

Point is you don't need expensive studios or large budgets just a bunch of ford fans with a bit of talent and a Mac with iMovie or PC equivalent and a decent camera .. You can put something out in HD. That can look really polished.

If for no other reason than a bit of fun to show here or Facebook .

Best part is you don't have to worry about greenie wowsers saying "Oh no you are showing a car being driven hard...We are all going to get killed next time we cross the road..."

I sure some of you can put something together to sell the FG series II Ecoboost, EcoLPI and the rest. Coz it looks like Ford sure as hell isn't going to do it.

This guy did a pretty good job.

I love the Ford song, would be good to introduce something like that again, everyone seems to be doing it on SmoothFM 91.5 here in Melbourne, premium curtains and blinds anyone?

Nice...
I was thinking something done to "Welcome to My World" for a more sedate extra space luxury and build quality...although a talented Ford fan could turn that tune into a go fast sound track for an add.....

The Welcome to My World could be the theme and depends on how you play with the music could depend on who you are aiming your add at.
