Our track will be full length concrete (the only one outside the USA Im told) , doesn't run towards the afternoon sun and will have full ANDRA 'A' Grade status.
My front lawn is the size of AAMI stadium and the back one is the same. I will let all AFF members camp at my place whenever the drags are on up here!
With all the frustrated racers about Im guessing you might need all that space. What is happening at Riverland? Followed their website/forum for a fair while but there never seemed to be much in the way of news. Are they still running 1/8th at Wiakirie?

It has been a bit quiet on the website and that needs to be sorted.
The main problem so far has been the other users of the land we are going to use. A farmers Field Day is held there once a year and we had to negotiate with them and the local council for the terms of a lease that we were all happy with. Last I heard that negotiation was in the final stages and was about to be signed off. This has held us up for some time as we could not get funding / grants until this was done.
Apparantley construction is due to commence mid year and we should have a surface to race on early next year. This may be only an 1/8th mile to begin with (depending on funding), but the long term picture is definitely full length 1/4 mile with ANDRA 'A grade' status which will enable us to run all classes at meetings.
Waikerie Airstrip 1/8th mile drags are still held and will be on again the day after the Berri Show N Shine Nov 16 & 17th this year. Those dates are still to be confirmed though. The surface at Waikerie isnt good for traction, so don't expect record times!

Bit of bad news. Aparently one of the machines being used to resurface has "sunk" through the new bitumin surface. No racing till next year.

This is UNCONFIRMED.

This same rumour has been sprouting up on other forums as well. "V8 Drive" days have been relocated from AIR to Mallala......could be fact rather than fiction.

Re the rumour about the bitumen laying machine at Virginia Raceway, Yes there was a problem, but it was on the back section of the circuit.
We had started to fix the problem, however, in the last 7 days the site has had in excess of 85mm of rain, so all work has stopped.
When work starts again will depend on the weather, in particular rain fall

Hope that clears it up.

Cheers

Your not wrong RE: rain + subbase/bitumin. Did a job last yr (only 6000m^2 of bitumin) but the weather KILLED it for a good 4-5weeks.

Just heard a rumour that an 80 foot tall alien being from the planet Bitumize landed at AIR amd ate all the new bitumen up and then did a huge crap on the start line.

No racing for 6 years!!

Sorry just had too.
