Just fit an earth strap that hangs down under the car. We used to see them all the time. Basically a rubber strap with a brass ring at each end, presumably connected with a wire in the rubber, that you screw to the chassis so it just touches the ground when the car is stationary. When moving the strap just waves around in the breeze off the ground but touches down when you stop and bleeds off the static electricity.

People who know me understand that my cars are sacred, should be admired but NOT touched. So why would a person think it would be ok to rub their hands over the paintwork as some sort of joke?
Geez! I hate that! and I reckon it shows a complete lack of respect.

Had the same with my motorbikes DFB FGXR6. Took pride in them being fingermark and spotless. When I was single I had a "kitbag" and rack on the back to do my limited shopping and parked my bike near the lifts in the bike park bays that where near the lifts.
Most times I'd come back to on my GPZ900R or ZZR1000 with fingermarks all over the tank from "Mum" letting them sit on the pretty bike. Never caught them at it. but geez I'd like to give them a dose of my frustration. No touch the rides - ever! Cheers!

I had an immaculate XY GS Fairmont wagon which, at the time, was unrestored with 35,000 original miles on it. It was a vey tidy, original car. A 'mate' of mine thought it was funny to put an esky on the roof. I still get angry that after all I had done for him (through the death of his daughter and his wife leaving him) he had no concern for the things that were valuable to me. 15 years later he has never been game to face me, and probably just as well.

Fair enough.... I was just assuming it was a hand mark from someone admiring you car a little too closely, but if it was intentional wiping of their hands over your car, you have every right to be ****ed off!!!!

I hate the fact that there is next to no decent 4" mobiles being made anymore. There are a few decent 4.3" ones left around but everything seems to be 5" and above.
I bet there is a market for people who are happy to pay good money for a smaller handset. Throw in the fact I need dual sim capability and the options are next to nothing. Heaps if you want a 5" screen however...

dropped my son off yesterday (sparky late again), on the way home I hit the button to send the drivers side window back up, yep!.....clack, clack, clack another mechanism gone (makes the four now) so there goes my weekend repairing that bloody thing.
sparky eventually turns up, let him in and after a cuppa he starts work, I go to do the washing, try to open the door of the washing machine after the final cycle and the whole assembly flies to pieces, 3rd time it broke, I repaired it twice before but this time it was terminal, plastic had run it's course (14 year old so probably time it went).....took the carcass up the recycle yard and got my $2.50 (75 bloody kilo's it weighed, hell I struggled to get into the trailer) and went and bought a new one. went to see how the sparky was getting on and he was gone, when he returned he said that he had broken two drill bits going through a steel purlin and had to go and get a new one, by the way he said that they were my bloody drill bits, didn't think to replace mine while he was at the shop, wasn't going to tell him that I have umpteen dozen bits in a greasy bag under the bench so I wasn't too worried. he then borrowed a tape measure, the one I grabbed to pass to him, that was close at hand was my brand new, $40 Lufkin. when he left that afternoon of course it was gone. what a shot of a day.......glad it's over.

can you ask the water department for an extension until you can pay it as well as the amount owing on the gift.
for future reference us old farts much rather see our kids happy, healthy and in financially good stead rather than a gift of any large amount......... just a visit and a box of chockies along with a beer and a good chinwag with our kid's see's me and mine very happy. give the water mob a ring, I think you will be surprised, just tell them you can't afford it just yet and then you and them will work something out.
