Is it a 1953 Muntz Jet? I think Earl Muntz bought the manufacturing license from Frank Curtis.

The man himself:

Christened his daughter "Tee Vee"; invented the 4 track cartridge player; pioneered home cinema, produced the 1st US sub $100 TV, married 7 times.
His wives included actress Joan Barton (who appeared in Angel and the Badman with John Wayne) and Patricia Stevens of the Patricia Stevens Finishing Schools. Phyllis Diller was among his many girlfriends. He was friends with celebrities such as singer Rudy Vallee, comedian Jerry Colonna, actor Bert Lahr, television presenter Dick Clark, and actor Gene Autry.

A larger that life character for sure.

I'm wrong, it's not a Bugatti Type 57. Very similar though.

It is not as obscure as it sounds, was a main line production car - even made the cover of Wheels in the early 70's

Essentially an Austin 1800 with a traverse straight six 2.25 litre. Leyland basically took the 1500 OHC from the Nomad and bolted a few extra cylenders on the end... was built to combat the Kingswood and Falcon, eventually killed off by the advent of the P76

Cool Kimberley and Tasman

I do believe that Leyland used the Austin Freway six cylinder motor in these cars not just added an extra two pots
I think from memory they were 2.6 litre
they were also used in the P76 but used longways (north/south) in the P76 as they were in the Freeway from the sixties which I was told at trade school that the Freeway was more Australian in content than the Falcon or Holden
thanks John

OK to try and kick start this again and get some new players here's an easy one (I think):
