Hi All

Sensational forum, really well put together.

I'm on my 4th falcon. I've driven an XW, XB, AU-II, BF-II wagon. I love my BF and looking at ways to mod it. Also my current mid-life crisis is drawing me back to the XW which is special to me as it was my first car.

Cheers.

Ive been using this site for a while and after accessing it to help in the removal of an old mobile phone cradle requiring the centre stack / icc facia surround to be removed on my SX TS Territory - which I was quoted $150 to remove and took me 30 minutes- I thought I should introduce myself.

Owned Fords since I started driving in 84. In chronological order:
73 Mark 1 Escort, 77 TD Rally Pack 4.1 Crossflow cast iron, 70 XW Falcon, 77 TE Cortina Wagon, 84 ZK Fairlane Ghia, 90 EA Falcon S, 97 EL Futura, 2001 AU2 Fairmont Ghia, 2001 AU2 Futura and currently:
2001 AU2 XR8 Ute 5 sp manual, original condition 89,000kms and signature motor.
2005 SX TS Territory with Parnell Gas

I have had a dozen or so company cars assigned to me including a BA and FG Falcon.

Next car will probably be my first brand new car purchase as Im so impressed with the Ford Ranger Wildtrak.

Gidday fellow Henry owners.
I have a ED with a 5.6L Tickford windsor stroker living in it.
I need to source a set of plug leads with heat shield caps on the plug end.
The thing has the coil packs up front with clip on lead caps.
The existing leads are Bougicord Class F, unfortunately #2 has been damaged.
Can anyone put me in the right direction.
I googled Bougicord, got there website, tracked their Aussie rep (some mob over in WA) only to be told they have none.
Any help appreciated. Feel free to call me.

Hi All,

I have a BA Series 2 XL Egas ute. Thanks to Members postings of info and experiences, I was able to get all of my problems sorted out. It seems that just about every problem I had is apparently "usual" for BA Fords??

Power steering leaks, disc rotor warpage, diff problems, Gas solenoids cracking. The ute usually goes to a Ford Dealer for servicing as I use it for my business. They quoted nearly 3 times more to do the repairs as what was quoted by independants. . After doing some online shopping and making a few calls, all were fixed for under $2k and I found out some interesting information about the car. With the diff noises, apparently, its very common on Utes and vans that are carrying heavy loads. It seems that the bearing collar slides down the axle which causes the axle bearing to hammer itself into destruction. I was told by a few people that if you let these diffs keep clunking and grinding away, the diff will self destruct causing BIG $$ damage. It cost me just over $450 to get 2 new bearing kits and collars fited and a diff oil change. Diff is sweet as now. WA Diff Centre in O,Connor put the kits in and fitted decent sized non-genuine collars which dont move.

Thanks again Guys for the info.

I also have a BA XR6 (Non turbo) that I have broken two rear wheel studs off of. Still haven't gotten around to fix. May need help guys as I've tried but didn't manage to seperate the hub to fit new studs in, seems to be seized together. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers guys... Mark

Hi everyone, Grant from Ballarat here.

I recently picked up my first ever Ford, an XR50th in lightning strike. Non turbo, and ZF gearbox.

It's completely stock, so there's no point posting photos of it!

In the 300 or so kms I've done so far, I'm loving it

hi all, happy to be a part of this great site. I have owned a white XM 4 door for over 10yrs which i have worked on over the years, 250 xflow alloy head and xp fairmont disc front which has served me well and almond leather retrim of my front beach seat. Now its time to finally clean her up on the outside. So, whilst the 250 is out to clean and respray engine bay matte black, I thought I want to put a V8 in next, so I bought a 302 from an EB XR8, now I'm selling the 250 and BORG 3speed auto and want to reco the 302, alloy heads manifold and 600cfm carb, extractors with dual exhaust and 9 inch diff, also want to convert my front 4 stud hubs. I've lowered front end and will lower rear. Front guards are off and brakes upgrading cylinder and mounting booster in wheel arch..lots of work ahead of me..love my Falcon.

Let the fun begin!

Would be interested in hearing from anyone that can help.
Cheers

Hi guys,

long time reader and first time posting.
Just want to say thanks for all the info i have taken from this site it has been a huge help!

I now have a problem, i performed the illuminated window switch mod (I_Con) and my single switches work fine but the master unit wont light.
I have checked and double checked my soldering and orientation of leds but am at a loss as to why it wont work.

I have used this type of smd led: http://www.fordforums.com.au/vbporta...article&id=321

does the master need resistors as well due to this led being used?
what am i missing?

thanks for any help

Chris

Hi all, I'm Nick and I live in Adelaide. I've got an all ford garage, wq zetec fiesta as daily transport, my grandfathers xf which has been in the family since day one, with an original 80,000km on the clock but with a very unoriginal injected 5.0lt backed with a T5 and LSD, purely a sunny Sunday ride. And my latest toy an FG mk2 FPV GS ute which I picked up brand spankers two days before Christmas. First mk2 on the rd in Adelaide at the time.

Great to see so many posts. Always great to see some introductions from new members.

Looking for an answer to a question and not sure how or where to start looking? The forum has a great search function that will pull up every thread that has ever been created, based on any search word you enter. The search button is located on the top navigation bar.

Also, check out the Technical Resources Portal. You will find informationi n there, you would never have thought even existed on the web

Cheers

Hi Guys,

My name is Chris. I have owned many Fords and worked on many more as a Spray Painter/Panel Beater for too many years to remember.

My current Ride is a 50th Anniversary G6E - Seduce, Love it.

I have just bought my son an AU 'S' which is great as a first car all the safety features without the price tag.

I have been a member and enjoyed reading some useful information and thought it was about time I joined the fray.

Cheers

G'day all, I am Jace. I am a Kalgoorlie boy now residing in Perth. 21 in 3 weeks (time flies!)
I have always stayed true to blue!

I currently own a MK2 BA XL SE ute in merc seilver with a 5spd manual.

I hope to follow Ford just like my father has over the years and I think this forum may be the place to start my endeavour of doing up/building ford powered dreams, starting with my Ute.

Over the years my father has owned some very prestigious cars, from a few late model Cortinas, an extremely well done XP Panel Van with a 302 windsor to a MK2 Escort RS lookalike, and now he currently built and owns an AC Cobra with a 347 stroked Windsor.

After being around over the years for a few of the builds, mainly the Cobra it has really inspired me to follow in his steps.
Hopefully over years I can produce a few head turners and in general have a ton of fun with my Falcon!
