More clues:

The company was very successful in the 70's peaked in the early 80's then had a few a few disasters and partially as a result (Japanese competition was also a factor) have been bankrupt and changed owners several times since (and even changed country of production twice).

Nonetheless, this company have still manged to stay in production albeit at much reduced numbers. Very much a shadow of their former highly regarded past now. A case perhaps of the kids taking command and stuffing up the parents' years of hard work and hard won reputations.

OK a big clue. The company is now reestablishing dealerships around the world, including Australia, and part of the ad campaign refers to the return of one of the most prestigious names in motocross history.

It was said of their 81 model of their bike: The bike was so good, that every Japanese factory bought several XXXXs and tore them apart down to the last nut and bolt and it took another three years before Japan figured out how to successfully copy the power-band of the XXXXXXX" .

Another clue: the company was founded in 1926 by two bothers but post war one brother's share was reduced to 40% as he had been a Nazi party member. Subsequent feuding in the 80's between the two families also contributed to its subsequent problems.

Very old Celica-ish. RAxx?

Actually, reminds me of the old Datto's and Mazdas of the same era.
RX-3 or 4 maybe?

Not an Intermeccanica vehicle - looking into the origin of the common element of the logo might give some clues as to who penned the body design, but not where it was built...

in the mean time, another angle of the Jaeger equiped dash

So Turin is the design studio's location. So it could be Ghia, Vignale, Michelotti, Bertone, Frua, Carrozzeria Allemano.

1972 Renault Torino Coupe. Torino = Turin so there is a link. That was tough though.

I'm off to bed so some clues for you earlier risers in the east. Late 60's. There are links with Torino too. Powered by a 2.3 litre 126 bhp V6. A convertible versions was also available but it appears only one of the 40 odd cars made was a convertible.

seriously well done aussieblue, thought I would get at least 24hours out of that one given its chequered pedigree - Built in Argentina from 1966 to 1982, front & rear body pannels and interior redesign of the American Ramber penned by Pinin Farina, 3.77l SOHC Holley equipped Jeep straight six by IKA Kaiser (160kw performance version with tripple webers placed third in the 1969 84hrs at the Nuremburgring) and ran with a 4speed ZF gearbox

Cheers
