News is saying that all the talk of possible U.S recession due to Fed rate increases and inflation like we have here is actually worrying the oil co's so theyre now dropping barrel prices.

Excellent news!

EVs are helping the ICE keep going as well.

Saying EVs are helping ICE keep going is like commending the Govt for allowing people to cross state or regional lines after being confined to their house for six months.

Shows the problem with certain policies. Hey, I still love my V8s so I don't mind.

Or is the demand dropping as some people can no longer afford to make unnecessary car trips?

Let's hope it keeps dropping and returns to sane levels.

I don't understand why Melbourne is at least 20c more than Sydney?

It should be the other way round!

I had a win when I got 98 for $2.29 after 4c voucher. Nearing $2.50 everywhere.

Yet still over $100 for my lil WRX for about 3/4 tank and not use to putting a PIN in for petrol. Just tap it and they say sir you have to put your PIN in

Never was so expensive before and come September unless things change a lot, add on an extra 22c as gov have already ruled out an extension.

And to be fair you can't hate them for that, but they will still cop the heat for sure.

Oh look, the king of global virtue signallers over in Europe have now declared natural gas and nuclear as 'green' energy.

Quote:
EU Lawmakers Remove Last Hurdle to Label Gas, Nuclear as Green

European Union lawmakers voted to allow natural gas and nuclear energy to be labeled as green investments, removing the last major barrier to potentially billions of euros of funding from environmental investors.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...clear-as-green

Amazing what happens when you suddenly realise you heavily rely on fossil fuels and all your legislation is trying to kill it off within 10 years so lets just change the definition of them and presto!

Are we still sure they're going to ban unleaded and diesel by 2030 or are they suddenly going to also become 'green' as well?

You couldn't even make this **** up if you tried

Nuclear isn’t too bad. Yes there’s still waste but it’s a pretty small amount based on the amount of power produced. Just a shame it’s hard to deal with radioactive waste.

Given natural gas is now a green energy solution, Australia is the largest exporter of this green fuel, what a turn around!

Maybe one day the EU will catch up to a great leader in green energy exports like us here in Australia.

And my ute is now a green vehicle. Pity the didn't continue the use of the greentop motors in the ecolpi range, otherwise it would have bene perfectly colour-coded

Wonder if that means I'll get rego, insurance and toll discounts now?

Finally!

If Government actually use their brains for once they might actually be able to export the mountains of LNG we have available and actually make a profit.

Hopefully your own one doesn't cost $2.50/L

Why does NZ and UK have such ridiculously expensive fuel? The UK has its own oil and gas industry.

Because everything is ridiculously expensive in NZ ....we have huge amounts of tax added to fuel that's supposed to fund roading but its mainly siphoned off to do other sh#t our dairy products and timber are dearer than yours yet they're all we really export , our mortgage rates are higher and our wages are less

We're living the dream over here

No wonder half of NZ is over here in Australia, when you coming over?

I remember when I was over there in 2011 and 91 was around $2/L NZD and I was amazed at how much of a rip off fuel was.

Mind you I got a 300g porterhouse and a beer from a pub in Christchurch for like $25 NZD at the time so I thought that was super cheap

Doh...how did I miss this! $1.34 a litre out in the eastern suburbs!!!

They honored the price for all the cars that filled up during the period, but won't be honoring it for those who locked in the price for later use
