To be fair Trump doesnt do much to help himself it was only a couple of weeks ago he was banging on about Obamas lack of preparing the health system for such a thing as is happening now then when reminded how long he had held office by a reporter all he could do was purse his lips and somehow look more stupid than normal,the silence was deafening.

The more number of Covid-19 patients a hospital records, the larger the amount of funding the hospital administrators receive. This pattern is going to stop shortly. You're going to see a massive reduction in the number of cases being reported as the funding has now stopped.

Sums up the dogs breakfast handling there pretty well.. At least we're pretty united here . Not always super happy about some stuff but largely sticking it out .

If there's any country that's going to have civil unrest issues it's the USA, they love a good protest/riot.

Massive underestimates in the USA of actual infections due to low testing levels. When they reopen the states and send people back to work we’ll see a second wave. This is why Australia and New Zealand will have to isolate from the rest of the world for years to come.

For the size of Texas, around 30 million their numbers aren't bad compared to Euro countries and more liberal US states. Much like WA with the eastern states, why should tx be under lockdown... Lockdown because North East numbers have exploded as the NY mayor and governor (to spite Trumps Chinese travel ban) were telling people to go out and hug a Chinese for the New Year parade in February.

Which raises the question like a previous poster alluded to, is it possible for the US to downplay deaths or cases? Is it possible at all considering four out of the top five affect states are democrat, with a vendetta against the president.
Or could that be flipped upside down to suggest these states are over inflating the figures to make him look bad, feed the media, or potentially pull more funding from federal health budgets and so on.

You have to ask why the media are so focused on the US, and a bunch of cash strapped red necks that want to get back to work.
While England and some European countries have migrants blatantly ignoring social distancing and isolation rules, and some even rioting in the streets. No surprises to see they're over represented in case numbers...

USA - 1 in 3,300 people
Spain - 1 in 238 people
Italy - 1 in 343 people
France - 1 in 430 people
Iceland - 1 in 193
Belgium - 1 in 301 people
Switzerland - 1 in 312 people
Ireland - 1 in 334 people

Now imagine if social distancing was not in place, imagine attending a music concert or other crowded sporting event?

Puts the seriousness of the virus threat into perspective when you look at the figures in that way.
