Yes, a lot of blokes had a thing for Kate Pierson back then.

I do like the 80's look, I had a VK Director with B45's - sold it during the post boom of 2009 which was a smart move

Red XJ-S the other week (Sunday) in the Belrose area.

Tidy AU XR in Launceston, Monday.
P6 LTD for sale, gold coloured, looked tidy, lowered, corner Roe and Commercial Streets Benalla yesterday.

Well-kept black AU XR ute just north of Albury, again yesterday. Also BA sedan in (rare for non-sports sedans) “Amyl Rush” colour southbound on the Hume near Gundagai.

I had one for a short period, did a brilliant rebuild picking it up dirt cheap, needed respray and cleaning up.
Decided to stealth mode it.
De badged, engine stroked by good mate tune house builder.
Bro inlaws good mate had a panel shop got it painted SV5000 green.
Got some Brock Irmscher rims, brock headlight rubber moulds, factory sunroof and pedders dumped down and this was the Mrs's daily dropping our first born to school lol.......
It looked pron and sounded like a typical lumpy GM motor.
She moaned to me that sitting at the lights everyone wanted to give her a run lol.....
and she's a driving Ms Daisy type - I used to cop heaps from her.
Alas the car was too good, it got plated by theives and knocked off one night.
I was shattered the wife was rejoicing ROFL !

Was that when you were over Ryde/Putney way? There was collusion between a towing firm then in West Ryde and the Eastwood coppers.

Nah mate pre that area was in Petersham.
I heard of that collusion- it was rife everywhere really but I think it was really out west where a lot of control for car theft occuring early ‘90’s.
Doing that commy up I frequented a lot Granville and further west.
From sources in my industry that many were offered hot parts and cars these select gangs had paid off countless employees in the RTA known back then and would find out where every HSV Ticky etc etc was garaged.
I know for my car ended up at someones place I knew through business and he called me very early morning that I missed for he said he could have bought it back of all bloody things go figure.

I reckon a thief spotted it whilst on the road got my plate number and address rest is history.
Just thankful the cops got them via a long car chase and didn’t give up when they abandoned the car and ran off chasing them.
And I only just upped the insurance and they thought I was doing a you know what lol

This isn't a car, but you rarely see Victoria "On the move" plates on cars anymore. Most cars that old have newer plates attached to them.

The key reason why I insist on slimline plates, no goofy slogans that are a pointless cost to the taxpayer. You can just bet it took a boardroom of experts being paid $100 an hour to come up with those slogans.

G'day all .... Hope you all have a great Christmas Day tomorrow .. On Thursday our music teacher at the District School I work at as an EFA decided to drive his immaculate and I do mean that literally 1969 Morris Mini to work . Used to be everywhere . Other than Nick's little beauty I can't recall seeing another one for ages .

Soft spot for them because my very first car was also a 1969 Mini resplendent with the 1098 cc engine . It was red and had a set of ROH mags...Later on I traded it on a Ford Escort L coupe . There's another car I haven't seen for yonks where I am ..Used to ogle over the RS2000 and the Rally Pack ones back then .

Another thing you don't see is major ad campaigns like Ford did .. This is a mix of the U.S. and Australian images and music .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKEeor3kbKM

There was previously in 1969 (again) The Ford , The Going Thing Ad campaign . All the manufacturers did this . Ford even did a TV Special in 1969 that I found on YT recently in America ..

We have 2 'Garden State' plates in the family - best ever plate for Vic. It is ridiculously easy to grow a good garden & food in this state, because it has good soil, receives rainfall and is not a desert. I'd have another one of those plates if I could!

In Summer I like "The place to Leave" err "Be" better.

Oh no no I like the mild summers here, contrast to Perth's Xmas BBQ and many years are 45 degrees, add 5 degrees for brick paving, add another 5 degrees for manning the Weber and it's Saudi Arabia style temps. Vic is nice, on the coast anyway. And in winter there is snow to play in. For every other reason including state government finances, yes, the place to leave.
