I don’t know if it’s that hard as a rule, some models are extremely well catered for - many years after production ceased. I run a fairly rare Peugeot as a near-daily and the internet has made this easier. More access to parts information, better ability to purchase overseas (with or without using Google Translate), contact with other owners worldwide is simpler than even fifteen years ago.

The biggest hurdle with keeping older cars can be collision repairs, you might pay $2000 for a €120 used bumper to be airfreighted because there’s literally nothing to be found in Australia.

Gets even murkier when you see what it's registered as,

1993? Wouldn't that put it as an ED Falcon?

Unless it's an EF (1994) thats been chopped into a tray back ute and dressed up like an EL XR.

Was at Bulla tip.

So its an ED Falcon, but with EL front clip? Looks like an EF/EL with the doors and shape of it.

Yeah it's got high series EF/EL doors.
Inner guards are different (from the shock tower forward) between EA-ED and EF-EL, so they would have been swapped in to allow the EL front. Wonder if its got an EL interior?
Had heaps of work over the years, you wouldn't pay someone to do it so the owner is probably a panel beater by trade.

The number on the back window points to it being from some Limo company, I would say it was a promotional vehicle for the Limo company

Or it was modified into a limo and then further modified into the ute. They get dollars spent on them so it is plausible.

When it rains it pours...
I've seen 3 Triumph Stags in the last 2 days. All immaculate and identical except for colour, blue, green and yellow. Definitely the same driver of the blue and green, I only caught a glimpse of the yellow one. Looks like he's taking his collection out for some exercise.

Boss 302 debuted on the Cobra, and then became the standard on all V8-powered FPV's from very late 2007 until the BF MK II was replaced in early 2008 with the FG.

A few good spots, dark blue T3 (I think) on the Hume southbound today. Yesterday in Heidelberg, a “survivor” red XE S-Pac. And in Warrandyte yesterday, a red Pursuit with older blonde woman driving.

Also yesterday in Jolly’s, Geelong - someone thought it worth pairing white Falcon utes.
