No not Asian, from what I know they were available in Europe and roughly 6-7 made there way to Aus and raced rather successfully. Your right with the 70's though.

Exhibition to celebrate 20 Wiggly years
Posted Mon Sep 6, 2010 7:38am AEST

The Wiggles are one of the most popular children's acts in the world. (AAP: Norman Bailey, file photo)

Map: Sydney 2000 The Wiggles' big red car will soon have a reserved parking spot at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum.

On Sunday New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally announced plans for the museum to develop an exhibition next year in celebration of the children group's 20th anniversary.

The exhibition will bring the magic of the The Wiggles' story to life, says museum director Dr Dawn Casey.

It will open in September 2011 for a 12-month season before embarking on a five-year national and international tour.

Since releasing their first self-titled album in 1991, The Wiggles - Anthony, Murray, Jeff and Sam along with their friends Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword - have become one of the most popular children's acts in the world.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to find out much more about the group through interactive displays featuring Wiggles props, costumes, musical instruments and posters.

Wiggle Murray Cook says the group feel "really honoured" to have an exhibition based on their career.

"We spend a lot of time travelling the world, but Sydney is our home so that makes the exhibition even more special," he said.
