Mate I would rather a car that gets me from A to B, without any hassles, then a car that is a absolute POS, that you need to spend so much money on, you could put a deposit on a new house.

Desire is nothing, without reliability to match. My VL is a good car, but I wouldn't say it's the best. It has some rust, and the paint is pretty ordinary, but it rides so, so smooth.

First car was a 1982 XD ute, that ended up with a 302 in it before I killed it.
Took me since then to find my current XD 351 ute.
Got an XG ute as a daily driver.
Have had an ED XR6 and XR8, but sold the XR8 to help pay for house.
Dream car is an ED Sprint, cobalt blue and fully optioned.

British racing green TC Cortina, 2lt 4 spd. lowered 2". Went like the clappers and handled exceptionally well in a 4 wheel drift at 90mph

:. Only problem that car ever had was it burnt out the original plug leads one day at something over 120-130mph. Not sure of the speed exactly cos the speedo stopped at 110 and the needle was off the clock pointing straight down

, geez that was a great car.

only way a 4 cylinder TC could do those speeds is off a cliff

Sorry to disappoint you Barry but on the day in question I went from Arno Bay to Whyalla (approx 150km) WITH a 5 minute stop at Cowell, and another couple of minutes pulled over to deal with the rusted out rear muffler, in under 55 minutes so you work it out. Allowing for speeding up and slowing down AND stopping twice I'd say my guesstimate isn't that far off the mark. Coming down the last slope on the long straight coming back into Whyalla ( about 10ks out )with my foot to the floor wide open the plug leads gave up and started breaking down with the speedo needle facing vertically straight down. But hey, if you don't believe it that's fine, I know the car did it and that's all that matters so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

My 1st love was a 1993 EB2 Gli, Everglade in colour, all stock when i got it, i added 17s, pedders suspension, 2.5inch exhaust, and some other minor things, was a great car, never had issues with it, sold it about 3 months ago now.

well if you want to continue living in fantasy land (otherwise known as the fast and the furiously masturbating) thats fine. Im just amazed that you reached those speeds seeing as the listed top speed for a TC 2.0 is a mere 103mph when it was new.

My first car was an EA with mad chromed 14" steel rims and chopped springs. pulled a massive 92rwkw iirc.

I had a 98 XH ute. Bought her from the damaged vehicle auction in Bris for 5 grand back in 2000. Spent another 5 grand getting her on the road. 5 grand again because the first guy did a dodgy job!

4.0 six, 5 speed man, heavy duty clutch, 2.5" Dynamax exhaust, dynamic white, TJM bullbar, factory rollbar, spot & fog lights, stone flectors, el xr8 alloys, tinted windows, big stereo. Discreet country boy's ute!

Had 130 thou K's (don't know how they drove her 1250K a week) on odometer. She was an ex Blair Athol Coal Mine vehicle from Mackay. Frendeley Motors sold her. I think a truck or something backed into the side.

I reluctantly traded her in 3 years later due to ex gf wanting a family car ie 4 cyl camry, took me ages to pay it off! As soon as she was gone, bought a VR sedan.

Ive pined for the XH ever since... Now drive a 92 Mazda Bravo. (At least I own this one lol!) I will buy an XH again though... Gunna drive the Bravo till she dies..

N12 Pulsator sedan 1.5L pre-emissions carbie, had a 2.25" exhaust with a res and small muffler. Was pretty loud under load. Was around 650-700kg, regularly saw 8000rpm, piston rings were overrated and oil at thick at treacle to stop it burning more oil than an LS1.

Top speed of 175kmh. Blew a gearbox and buggered it off.

91' Falcon EA 'S - Red, Manual, and held together with zipties, a near indestructible car. Its like the energizer battery, Doesn't matter what I did / do to it. It won't Fu%#ing die.

Still runs to this day, albeit not very well, she only revs to 3000rpm and sounds like its bouncing off the limiter. I still have it out the back at home. I fixed all the damage I'd done to it and left it.

TE Cortina, cast iron cross flow and 4 spd. 4 spoke dragway 13X7's hanging out the guards, and a nasty audio set up, complete with 6x9's in the front doors. Replaced clutch and diff and rebuilt motor within first 6 months. Surprised I still own it, albeit in a sad state after some wild paddock bashing of late. Cousin drifted into a strainer post, has broken most rear linkages and diff is about gone. Must whip engine and box out before it too is destroyed. A wild ride for a 17 year old. Would love to get a new body and build up another TE, perhaps with Webers, or a blow-through turbo....but for now will probably have the engine on a stand for a million years....too many projects

Datsan 120Y, Multicoloured panals, Toytoa Crown front buckets (the old ones collapsed) 12" Wheels, Remington tyres, 3 speed Auto (if no one has driven a 120Y auto, you should, just not on a public road!), Extractors and 1.75" exhourst.

Offically the Ugilyist, slowest and loudest car EVER! And it made Roadworthy!

This thing would understeer in a stright line, let alone take a corner, and of the line? I was lucky to make a set of lights, and that was if I was in front!

I drove it from Albury to Sydney once and could not hear a thing for the next week. Best part about it was driving through the Liverpool Westfeilds Carpark in first and setting off car alarms with the Exhourst note (I was 18 at the time and found it very amusing).

Being a ford man I am embarresed to say that my first car was a LX Torana. I had it for 3 months, chocolate brown with kidney style 14inch mags. I then swapped it for an aqua HX kingswood becasue it had a RWC and I was struggling to get one for my torry.

Next was life changing, an EA SPac, neva looked back, just bought my 4th XR. I am hooked.

My first was a baby s#*t brown datsun 200b what a heap it was but then i saw the light and jumped into my first ford. An ea sedan to be precise had that for a few years then went up to an ef monty wagon witch has now gone to car heaven stacked her causing about 5000g worth of damage and i walked away with a few bumps and bruises and damaged pride.....
