This thread is making me hungry!
Melbourne is in the midst of a boom in proper American bbq restaurants at the moment - if 18hr smoked bbq meat is your thing, go to fancy hanks NOW. Order brisket, pulled pork, ribs, beer can chicken by the kilo and wonder why you didn't go sooner! I tried a place called Smoque in Canberra on the weekend.
Had a platter with pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs, cornbread. Really enjoyed it.
