I've finally found someone who knows some **** about Fords.
Hi Ian On your model they were supplied as part of the plate, they then needed to be cut off and welded on and painted They are now no longer available You can however use the stud listed here - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=121499222546 it will need to be welded or braised on Best Regards, Darren Alexander So I ordered one. I can't weld, so I guess I'll have to use superglue. |

No leaks found then? Not that I would expect a car of this calibre to leak. With that boot stud, why not hit it with a wire brush and paint some rust preventative on it as it is still serviceable.

Mine boot pivot ball have gone to!
Have sourced screw ball pivots Plan of attack not decided, contemplating to grind of original, nut sert the boot channel screw in new pivots, (have new pivots primed and 2kd) Or drill out spot welds to remove plate its welded on, yeah weld new ones in and then have the boot channel repainted! Watch my thread as a fix will come soon!

The car has a time delay on the headlights, so I leave parkers on all the time.
They switch off 1 minute after motor is turned off. |

Nice ride. Loving the fact you've named it Big Al, after me.
As much as I love my silver and grey Sportsman I do like the single colour Sportsmans especially your goldish colour. What sort of driving do you do in yours, I find that when I'm just driving around town I get something in the region of 15 to 20 litres/100 but throw in a few open road trips and it drops right back down. Best I've recorded on a highway run was 8.2 from Lithgow to Ballina. |

Sheesh
Got wheel alignment done ... $90! Not many places in town that can do it. My regular mechanic told me that the brakes would need doing in about 8,000kms. While I was at this other place getting the wheel alignment, I asked what it would roughly cost to do the brakes with new pads and rotors. My eyes glazed over when he said 3 hours labour at $100 an hour. |

You guys have shocking economy! when my ltd was stock (v8) i was getting 14.6l around town and 8.6l on highway (melbourne to adelaide trip)
now it has full exhaust, 3.9 diff gears, messed with the tune (not finalised to bit rich) and its sitting on 19.6l 100km on my extremely heavy foot, yet to do a highway trip

22.2 around town seems high but not unusually high. I got 18.7 doing 50km around Lithgow, it didn't go over 70km/h for the week, but after a trip to Bathurst and back it dropped to around 12.5 per hundred. Honestly I didn't buy a 4 litre 6cylinder 1700kg luxury car to worry about fuel consumption.
McFly, I regret not getting the V8 LTD I was looking at. I massively regret that... |

Very rarely i managed to get a wheel alignment done in 30 minutes (including getting the car on and off hoist)
When ever i'm too lazy to do my own, i take it else where and people look at me as if speaking a foreign language when i want camber and caster adjusted (and say it will be more than standard wheel alignment charge which is stated as $45) You guys are getting a score and a half if mechanics are adjusting everything on the car (which normally takes around an hour to do) for $50 or so

As far as I am aware Cav, the only cars to get the woodgrain switch were the LTDs. But in my following of AU's it seems there was no consistency with what you may have got from the factory.
