An EVOX has to be serviced every 8k kms. Does that make it not worth buying the car? Anyway thats my point im not going off topic anymore.

But yeah, how hard is it to rotate the wheels? And aren't you supposed to get an alignment every 6 months or so anyway??

my last set of tyres i was recommended every 5000km. i wouldn't let them go much more than 10000 without rotation. they are assymetrical so i can do it at home. hardly an inconvenience. |

without talking about discounts, a new xr6 or G6/G6E will cost you between $37 - $50k. that can get you a lot of car in the small and mid classes. these cars still do 90% of what a large car can do. about the only things that a large car has in advantage is slightly more shoulder room, slightly more luggage depending on what mid car you compare it to, and slightly larger towing capacity. small/mid cars have them covered in nearly every other area for the average joe. many families buy a hot hatch so that dad can still have some performance whilst still retaining some economy. |

You think thats bad, in the 4x4 world Coopers want you to rotate tyres every 5000k by an authorised dealer or they will void your warranty. Too bad their tyres fall apart before that happens :P Back on topic, get behind the wheel of a 35k falcon and not much in that price range will drive as smoothly IMO Hell even our 03 BA drives better than alot of newer cars, particularly the new "small" cars

Small cars are a big reason why large cars dont sell, if you bother to read the WHOLE thread you might understand. Overpriced, you havnt got a clue.

Your opinion of large cars diminishes somewhat when you cant even bring home a 2-drawer filing cabinet in a Falcon while the GTI takes it with ease. |

have listened to buyers who now demand more utility and flexibility of space and carrying capacity, a large SEDAN is very limited these days, hence my suggestion Falcon become a 5-door hatchback. A slight change needing considerable engineering but yielding a much more usable vehicle |

Settle down with the petty jibes and arguments and stick with the topic. It is no worries to discuss whats going on with other cars (big, small, whatever) if this is the reason why the Falcons are not moving ..... just keep the personal crap out of it please...............

its nothing new. bought a 51cm tv about 20 years ago give or take. i had a ea and mrs had a kf laser. long story short, it wouldn't fit in the ea so we had to go back in the laser and it fitted probably due to its a hatch. i don't like your idea for a falcon hatch though, although there are some good 5 doors around. (is the xf jag a 5 door?) |

Q. Whats stopping people from buying the Falcon?
A. Poor product perception. |

The Falcon is a great car. The public don't perceive it to be. Ford needs to change public perception.

agreed 100% Many of our family friends wont touch a falcon, but as soon as they hop in our BA, they can't comment enough on how nice a car it is to ride in

IMO, giving up 0.6 l/100 km to get a spacious vehicle with higher seating position, looks good. That's just one example of the kind of competition large sedans are facing..... |

almost anything with a ford badge, most people i know will stick their nose up at it. It has to be jap or euro before they will look at it.

I wonder why people flock to the Commodore rather than the Falcon.
Ignorance/unfounded prejudice plays a role. A lady at work drives a VE Berlina and calls it a "real car" when compared to my BFII XT Falcon... I asked her why she doesn't like the Falcon and the best she could say is, "I just don't." She's never driven a Falcon in her life! She's 20 years older than I am (at least!). I have driven both. I like them both, but I like the Falcon 6 over the Commodore 6, and I love the interior. Practical as hell, the ride is better, engine quieter and smoother... Her view is that Holdens are Australian and Fords are American. When I advised her that Ford has been manufacturing here since 1925, she didn't know what to say. Holden got in with the Australian message a long time ago, and Ford really haven't pushed it... That's my experience... I personally want to see Ford prosper and I am looking forward to a global-platform large car. The Falcon is no longer viable as an Australian-only model. For a micro-market where large car sales are declining, it makes the most sense.

You are true - Brock marketed the car with his performances and with who he was, but that creates brand perception - what has been posted prior. Ford has been like a whimper in creating any pro-Australian perception for a while...
