Too true, my staff is dominated by the toy poodle.. It is funny to watch a ball of muscle being beaten up by a prissy seat cover.. Got to love the ability to train a staff to do almost anything....

Staff's not getting on with other dogs is very common. It is highly important to get staffies brought up and socialised around other dogs and get the staffies to play submissive.

It is mainly because staffies are SO strong and SO playful, that unfortunately not all other dogs see it that way and the other dog can 'snap' and then the staffy could go into defending its owner thoughts...

Just how I had it explained to me by a dog trainer - but I take it with a grain of salt because I believe all dogs are good - it's the owners that make them bad.

I'll have to get some photo's of my dogs up here... French Bulldogs... they aren't as bad as pugs - but they are a size 6 dog in size 8 skin (but mine are still puppies so they are still growing).

I think staffies make the best Nanny dogs, they seem to have a special affinity with kids. My 3 daughters were raised with a staffie and nothing was going to happen to those kids while he was around. My eldest daughter ran away from home when she was 4, my staffie went with her. When the police found her over 2 hours later they couldn't put her in the car until they let the dog in first. So they both came home in the police car, and both my daughter and the dog were wearing policemen's hats.

This is one of my dogs now, we have 3. This is Rosie a Ridgeback X Great Dane, she just celebrated her 15th birthday.

Thanks for that, I think we have way too many pics of them. The white one is an old grump an the other loves to attack my other half then go to sleep on my lap. Here's a few more for the cat lovers.

ive got a little chuwowah (spelling)..lol had him for about 9 years and he is the best watch dog ever, anyone who approaches the yard he goes off,but whats funny though is when the big dogs approach and they start sniffing blues butt, little blue skin has to jump LOL,if i ever get it on the camera ill post it asap.

also used to have a great cat ,tiger,he looked like one and acted like one as well.
he used to attack whenever possible, getting the mad head wobbles, the big dialated eyes and the tail wagging profussly. but one day he went missing and he never returned, i assumed he got bitten by a snake in the bush.

will post picks up though later

Believe me Parawolf he was socialised. I will give you some history about Cooper.

At the age of 6 months Cooper started puppy school and was a bully from day one, he always tried to pick a fight with the bigger dogs but never with the smaller dogs.
we would take him to the beach and he was no problem he would even play with other dogs big or small.
At 12 months he started ramming the fence with his head to get to the Ridgeback cross next door. I reinforced the bottom of the fence so Cooper never succeeded in getting that Ridgeback, or tho I wish he had because the blood thing alway's cr@pped on my front lawn.
At 18months Cooper had his first and only fight, It was with a Pit-bull Cooper won by crushing the Pit-bull's snout.
Today Cooper is 5yo and is still aggressive to other dogs, But not when he is at the beach. I believe he is protecting his territory and his Family(my wife and 2 kids and myself)
Both Val and Cooper are great nanny dogs. The pair off them let us know if something not right with the kids when they are playing outside. They also crave the attention of my 2 kids (5yo and 15months). Hugh the youngest was helped by Cooper to learn how to walk. Hughie would stand up and hang onto Cooper and cooper would walk very slowly so that Hugh no fall over, It was so cute. And when Hugh did fall Cooper would give him a lick and wait till Hugh stood up and grab on again.

Note
The fight between the 2 dogs was the Fault the stupid owner off the Pit-bull.
My wife and first son(18months at the time, Christian is the same age as Cooper) were at the park. The were in the play area which is fence and has only one gate.. The gate was stuck open.

My wife (Debra) saw the man with his dog walking up through the park towards Debra and Christian. As the man came closer he let the Pit-bull of the leash... and the Pit-bull mad a straight line towards them. Debra ask the man to his dog back on the leash. He replied don't worry he is friendly. The Pit-bull entered the fenced area, Debra Dropped Coopers leash and grabbed Christian and climbed to the top of the slide to protect Christian. The fight was over in about 20sec. Cooper had a scratch on the side of is face but the Pit-bull was messed up petty bad. Needless to say the owner of the Pit-bull was furious..

Yes the Staffie is a great nanny dog... The breader we used to mate Val told us that one of the duties of the staffies was to protect the children when mum and dad went to work in the mines. This is back when the staffie was first bred.

Also did you know that Rosie is actualy a lioness

Here are my 2 Staffs.
Jaeger the male is 4 years old and is so loyal to my wife I can't even put my hand on her leg without him growling at me, so he's my wifes dog.

Kira is my 2 year old who is my best freind, she comes with me where ever I go and loves hanging out as I work on the cars.

Here are the proud parents, Kira had 5 pups January this year with 3 stillborn, YES she had 8 all up in that tiny stomach of hers and she was labour for 4 hrs before she had a c-section.
I tell you what, a month later we had her fixed as no dog should go through the pain like she did.Luckily all the pups went to close freinds and we regulary see them growing up.
We kept 1 as she had brain damage caused at birth so we decided to keep her close to mum and dad as we felt sorry for her

Finally one of my prized 8x2x2 fish tank which house exotic African Chichlids, Hobby has been going for 9 yrs.

She does look like a lioness in that photo, she has always been the biggest clown of a dog age has slowed her down a little and given her some dignity. Here she is on her couch in the sunroom. She is actually much greyer than what the photo shows, we call it her "grey goggles".
