G'day Charlie

Your right, I did upload them a few years ago, had forgotten about that.

Thanks for the reminder. I've removed them now, the pics still make me feel sick.

WOW.

Is there any chance Al sent them to anybody?
Did Al lend his camera to anyone with the pics still on them?

Will be watching this closely.

I wish there was more I could do...

After I transfered the photos off his camera and onto my web server, I deleted the photos on the camera.

There is no chance Al could send them to anyone as the images were transfered straight from the camera to my web server. After I had finished, I formatted the card.

no offence, but GTP 200, you must admit, with some of the posts you have made, you sound pretty foolish.
not knowing where your spare keys are, not knowing what you have posted on the internet in the past, not knowing where your car has been etc etc.

not saying anyone deserves this type of treatment/incident, but you have certaintly help the crooks out unwittingly.

i have also seen this exact scam on ACA i think it was, where the seller claims he has the car overseas with him and cant afford rego/insurance over there etc etc, apparently its a pretty common scam and had plenty of copy cats happening all the time now since it was aired.

I dont think loosing your spare car has anything to do with having a ncye ride or a junker.

If I remember correctly Cam, and has already been mentioned in this thread, you have previously had your car for sale on ebay.....? Aren't these photos (the now famous 22 I'm talking about) the ones you supplied for the advert? :Up_to_som
I think it might be a good idea to work out what photos you uploaded for the ad..... :voldar02:

You've stolen my thunder Brutey...

Just a quick Q Cam.. I'll stand corrected if wrong, but wasn't there someone OS that was VERY interested in your car when it was on ebay, or am I confusing you with someone else??
If it was you, maybe it's worth a look at who the mystery 'buyer' was.

Just a thought.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Cam.

Just a quick query, what if it is the perons doing it lives overseas? What can actually be done to them?

The last thing to hope and pray for, is that the person doing it is not on this forum, or even reading this whole thread.

Good luck with the search.

I THINK the AFP would then be involved, as it would then be a case of international fraud??

Let's not all forget that the guy or syndicate that advertised this car called it a Mustang.

I have some opinions:

Scammers not car people and not Aussie's.

Chance that they are in Aus! "0%".

Chance that they intend to ever lay hands on the car "0%".

Chance that they want as many peoples deposit as they can get "100%"

Chance that they will get caught "???%"

Chance a scape goat drugo in a foriegn country will do a wrap one day for one of these scams "80%".

Just an opinion.

Hi Group C

I've examined the photos which were posted on eBay mid last year, and none of them are among the 22 photos. All enquiries from eBay buyers at the time I asked that I be contacted on the telephone. Any of them who did not wish to speak on the phone I considered not serious.

I'll pass any relevant details on to the police in any case.

Chance I'd sell the actual car for $18,500 "0%"

Hi EBII

I'm with Group C on this one.

Once the Stolen car squad determine if its an international scam, then they hope / should contact either AFP or work with the authorities overseas.

Would be interesting if they are reading this thread. I'd be very worried if I was them, but its their own fault.

Hi frenzo,

no offence taken mate.

With the help from all you FF guys, the crooks will get nabbed and locked up.

My purpose for this thread and posting on FF is for the benefit of others by sharing my experiences and discoveries which is FF related.

In relation to my foolish appearance to you, I don't remember every post and picture I've uploaded to the internet. I really should remember, thanks for the wake up call.

After all, I only have over 11,000 photos on my pc, I'm a member of over 20 forums and posted hundreds of posts. I don't go every where my car goes, I should really get my act together, shouldn't I.

I understand your passion for exploring all possibilities and applaud your enthusiasm, but my mate Al is NOT one of them.

Please refrain from asking further questions about Al. I have made it very clear that Al is 1000% the clear and he has done nothing wrong. Due to his security reasons, I'm unable to answer your question.

Carpoint should be forced to give you the name or credit card of the person responsible. The police should be able to have some sort of search warrant to force carpoint to give information...

I wasn't trying to say that he was involved, I was just thinking that if his PC was used and the pics were on it, then maybe his PC was hacked not your web server.
