Slightly off topic, but this is precisely the reason why I can't stand personalised numberplates that identify something to do with the car and its model name. The people who know what it means, they already know. The people who don't know, have no idea what its means hence they still don't know.

If you had something like a GTHO, dont you think [GTHO] plates might be cool?

What is not cool, though not so common these days, is people who advertise how many valves their car has... like WTF. I remember seeing quite a few Corollas with [***.20V]

Saw a BA or BF XR6 or XR6T (only saw from the front while driving past the petrol station where it was filling up) and it had the Ford Mustang badge on the front grill in place of the Ford Badge. Never seen that before or even thought about it being done.

I have the stick on FPV badges on my car, simply because I like them better than the standard Ford badges, but would not have done it had I not had the performance mods done.

I'd be more impressed if it had its original plates on a car that old, but hey, to each their own.

I make that the owner is sick and tired of loosing the standard Ford ones....

Ford ones break the plastic clips real easy, whereas the Toyota ones don't break. Personally I have seen the clips of Toyota ones bent back 180 degrees and still been part of the wheel trim.....Just bend back in place and wack the wheel trim back on.....Try that with a Ford one and it'll break.

So one smart owner

End of the day its just a Ford or Holden. If people were sticking Chevy badges on Aston Martins I'd care, but who cares really what badge is on a family taxi.

I saw this the other day and was outraged. How dare he leave those Chev badges on a proper Chev. Who does he think he is and more importantly, how can this happen?

Surely he could have put some oversized Holden badges on it.

A high set GT wing on a stock white BA XT with steel wheels and plastic wheel covers makes me sad,
some people have no shame..

That's what I heard. The Taurus was the replacement for the AU, but Geoff Polites stepped in and saved the day. The Taurus would have easily spelt the end for ford.

Those hubcaps (had to look three times to be sure they were hubcaps) look great...put a bit more effort in and remove the Toyota center, and you'd be onto something.

The "GTO" numberplate on the Monaro...there's plenty of GTO Monaros running around the place.

Taurus...ah yes...remember the Wheels magazine "The comparison Ford didn't want you to read" front page article comparing the Falcon and the Taurus? The Taurus didn't come out too bad...just it was a bit worse than the Falcon, and it would indeed have been a sales disaster.
