All the other things mentioned had a purpose too, in their day.

Black or dark wheels.

While I really like the look, I hard gun metal rims on my old commodore. It's almost the only option people are buying these days. Looks good none the less.

Young people driving around in imported Skyline/Silvia/Supras with body kits that have been ripped off at one stage while going over speed bumps, so you can see sticky tape holding them on. Also which I also hope is a fad too is those huge cannon/rocket(what ever they call them) exhaust tips put on a little 4-cylinder car.

Stickers.
Ricer performance part stickers on imports.
Mad or Psycho on chicks cars.
RM williams stickers, or bogan stamps, metal mulisha etc.
Fart Cannons, or having more exhaust tips than you have cylinders, saw an old sigma with 8 exhaust tips. I still don't kmow if he was just taking the Pi$$.
Excessive lowering so the car is on the bump stops.
20" wheels on VL's or any old car for that matter.
Giant tachos and shift lights, especially on Autos.
Hyundai excells, just hate them anyway even if not modified, but hate the rear fog light which is nearly always on.
No wonder the coppers have a ball defecting these cars, the owners just draw so much attention to themselves with their "performance " mods.

What is it with stickers that advertise products, automotive or otherwise.
the cities and roads have enought advertising on them. And everyone of those ads the company pays to display, but suddenly its considered cool to put free ads on yoru car?

The first thing I do when i buy a car is rip the dealer stickers off as soon as i get home (even once in the car yard) and if a service or tyre place puts theri sticker on my car (including littel reminder onthe drivers window) i tell them to take it off again.

IF R.M williams, jetpilot, kenwood, VB or any other company wants me to drive around with their logos on my car, im sure we can work out a fee, just like the race cars.
Or do ricers and bogans think race ccars have writing onthem coz the drivers think they look good or love that product?

Free. I know one transmission place in my area where they are charging $10 for the customer to advertise their business.

Blow off valves on otherwise stock turbo cars and when you see them crusing around you have to wonder if the car has an eleven million speed gearbox as the car seems to to rev its tits off and go whoosh every 2 seconds. Way to attract the cops

I hate all forms of stickers on cars, but my biggest hate is people who put body kits on stock cars like an HSV kit on an executive or an FPV kit on a XT.
Saw a car last week that reminded me of it, a white BA XT with G8E badges, a turbo badge underneath and BF Fairlane wheels. Front had an LTD grille and car was stock height. A big Ford sticker adorned the windshield. Either spend the extra money to bastardise the car on a more expensive model or just keep it relatively stock. Not to upset anyone here, but you can do a nice job on a car whilst not trying to disguise the fact that you bought the povvo pack.

Keep it in the country would yas?

One trend that really gets me going is the young morons in stock VN VP V......etc Commodore's who only cut the back springs in their cars till its just about scraping along the road while basically sitting in the back of the car because the front seat has been pushed back as far as it will go.
You beat me to it damn you!!!

In the eighties;
Stickers under the bonnet,
Fluffy toys on the parcel shelf,
For those who couldn't afford 'luxurious' crushed velvet, the interior was adourned in velour or 'Cheech and Chong' fluffy stuff.
Mirror tiles in the glovebox (a van thing),
GT wings on HQ's,
Gutter 'ariels',
Flexi-fans,
Dash fans,
Huge toggle switches and lights in home made consoles replacing the factory dash switches,
BF/TA's,
Posi-Tractions,
A9X scoops on stock Torana's, HQ's and XB/XC Falcons,
Screw on boot handles,
Screw on door handle scuff plates,
1 CB radio and four ariels,
Ferris stereo's and equalizers that had button's and dials straight from a 1920's mad scientist film,
Car alarm stickers that gave thieves a heads up on what they had to disconnect first,
Holley's on everything.

During the 'bonnet scoop' phase, a mate thieved a outdoor Macca's garbage tin lid and mounted to his HG wagon......with race tape!!! He lost it on the old F4.

And lately I've witnessed a near bog stock VR sedan with a huge V8 Supercar wing rocking on the flexing bootlid metal.

As far as FPV stripes go on XR's etc, it doesn't worry me at all. No-one seems too worried at the number of Falcon 500's, Futura's or Fairmonts running around as 'Tribute' XW-XY GT's. Basically the same thing. How boring would it be if we all did what everyone thought was cool???

I have a mate whose wife had the frangipani stickers on her car & he was talking about getting a Southern Cross on his.

Being the top mate that I am, I bought 5 frangipani stickers & stuck them on his rear window in the shape of the Southern Cross.

He ended up leaving them on to see if any one would copy it, but alas, we're not the trend setters we thought we were.
