Oh FFS Steffo.

Where did you pull that from? This is the first model with the six speed in it, do you really think they will release a car with 775Nm from stratch?

This is one of the best g'boxs in the world. I dont want to hear someone sh!t canning it that hasn't even driven it! At times you dont even realise that it has shifted, its unbelievable.

Did anyone else notice the 3v V8's Nm figure?...not bad!

No word on the Boss as yet - my guess is that FPV are delaying it all. Assume the Boss260 becomes Boss270 - that's the same power as the F6 and all of a sudden, the FPV marketing machine has a problem. It's also nudging closer to the current GT/GTP outputs, and FPV would think that may be a bit close and potentially impact sales.

October at SMS I reckon, that's the earliest we'll hear about the XR8 and FPV range. Shot themselves in the foot, didn't they!

Let's see how much focus is placed on all the BF models that AREN'T the XR8, to try and keep peoples attention away from it! :

I never said about the car not having 775Nm. I mean the transmission's torque rating. The ZF in the Jaguar S-Type R etc etc has a max torque rating of 775Nm. Why is ours only 600 in comparison? Never questioned the gearbox's smoothness, shift quality or any of that.

Default BF Falcon Turbo gains 30Nm

See official BF Falcon details below. Will be interesting to see how that extra torque translates into performance for the T.

I6 engine upgrade: now 190kw@5250/383nm@2500
I6 Turbo upgrade: now 245kw@5250/480nm@2000
SOHC V8 upgrade: now 230kw@5350/500nm@3500

2 versions of the 6speed auto
one rated at 450nm, and a performance version at 600nm.
Im just wondering why only 450nm? that means only I6 ghia's will use that version.

A fuel consumption chart of the BF compared with MKII is shown, results are very impressive.

you can check it out with this link to get a pdf file:
http://mellor.carsales.com.au/mellor/enews.nsf/edition/3B71C83E51F6708CCA25705F002AF3F4/$file/GoAuto_enews300.pdf

No info on XR8/GT engine upgrade

Be interesting to see if FPV Gets a power increase... Barra182 gets 8kW and 3Nm.. the 220 gets 10kW and 30Nm... XR6 Turbo gets 5kW and 30Nm... boy, we sure love our torque :hihi:

Steffo lose the "Big Boys Book of Modern Motor Cars" and book yourself in for some kind of reality therapy please. If you wished to spend Jaguar money on the Trans I am sure it would be a snatch to lift the rating to the higher figures.

Given the cost increase quoted is somewhere near your target budget for an entire vehicle, I think this reality too, escaped you.

From what I see BF looks positive for all models, assuming BOSS based vehicles will increase output by a similar margin, and pricing will remain similar to the outgoing BA.

Whilst style changes are not radical, first impressions of the BF look more than positive.

Boss 260 is remaining Boss 260 according to The Age, however a new exhaust is to be fitted for a "more prominent v8 growl"...

Drive from The Age is saying the XR8 engine will remain unchanged. Pity a bit more power would have been good plus the standard V8 is getting a bit close to the XR8's power now.

Dont expect an increase in power for FPV either , they are selling to well to change anything of note.

If i recall corectly, the 18" wheels on on the XR8 was an option on the mk1 BAs. (I could be wrong). But those pics just look like photochops to me. And the bodykit looks f%&k all different to me, just the (now hard to clean) area around the fog lamps.

Well time to hang out for an ex fleet, fairmont v8, ghia , lane or find an optioned XT

far out 6spd for ford fans.

i wonder what the holden boys are thinking.

me thinks the engine power is all in the software.

when you look at places like Nizpro , Capa, APS and the others who have the flash tunner.

I wouldn't hold out for any changes to the Xr8 or the FPVs - you would have thought greater impact would have been gained by releasing any engine performance figure changes at the same time as the other cars.

I doubt there will be any changes to the Boss 260/290

Also doesnt Bf= boy friend on mirc/msn chats?

Spewing that they didn't break 190kw's with the I6. Would of been nice to just be in front of Holdens new V6.
Although, a lot of people say that the 175kw V6 is compareable to our I6 as that's the standard engine, and he 190kw V6 is comparable to the XR6T donk as thats the 6 cylinder performance engines.

If that's the "new" XR8 18's, not so good I'm afraid. They look exactly like the BA1 standard XR 17's which really isn't too flash. Can anyone confirm?
